Gracie loves the company of other dogs and will wrestle, play tug of war, and cuddle with them to her heart's content. Gracie's also a big people person, but she takes a little extra time to give her trust to you. Once she knows you she loves you! Gracie is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. You can visit her Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 to 5:00 PM!

Hi! I'm Hoss! I'm from Arkansas. From his foster: Handsome Hoss is as sweet and majestic as can be! He is the true definition of a gentle giant: large (and in charge), but gentle, friendly, and has a heart of gold. He loves everyone he meets. He enjoys pets and belly rubs, and gets along very well with other dogs. He is kind and considerate of my 6lb resident cat and is incredibly patient towards children. When he wants attention, he will give you the Pyr Paw. He does not exhibit the typical barking behavior associated with the Great Pyrenees breed. For his size, Hoss does well on a leash and is easily able to be redirected. He is fond of his daily walks (normally 2.5-5 miles), but also appreciates being a couch potato and lounging around with his favorite humans. When at home, he likes to make his "rounds around each room and check up on his people. He prefers to play with plush or chew toys. Although Hoss already knows a handful of tricks, he can be quite stubborn. He has, what we like to call, selective listening, and does not have the best recall. Hoss is rarely alone, as I work from home, but he can be trusted to be alone for up to 4 hours free-range. He loves spending time with his people, so he can be a little destructive if left alone for longer periods of time. He whines and cries for a couple minutes after we leave him in his crate, but otherwise stays quiet and calm for up to 8 hours. He is potty-trained and has not had any accidents in the house. Hoss is an absolute delight to foster. He is very mellow and easy-going. He would make a wonderful family dog or companion. I grew up as a house dog with fenced in back yard but loves to escape and roam. I do think I would be good on a farm as long as the animals are larger than me. I get along best with dogs a little smaller than me and cats if they are in door. I grew up with my 7yr human brother but with other children I need slow introduction until I know them and is comfortable. I also need that with any outsider of the household. I am easily fear triggered and need someone that will be patient but firm with my training and understand my breed. I am kennel trained and it is my safe space. Betty White is 3.5 years old and 76 pounds. Once she gets confortable, she's very loving and likes to snuggle. She will protect her humans from everything down to a leaf blowing. Logan is a good boy! He likes to chew bones, wrestle with our resident dog, take naps and he loves to bark! He's definitely in his teen years and can be a bit sassy, at times. He's a great big, lovable goofball who would do great with a family that wants to snuggle and play with him! Logan is a big boy who really likes people. However, due to his size and occasional mouthiness he'd do best in a home with older children. He also isn't super comfortable with small dogs. He would love to have a larger canine friend. He walks well on a leash but is working on some leash reactivity.

Are you looking for a fluffy friend of your very own? Well, look no further. I'm Lori and I'm as fluffy as they come! My foster mom says that I'm also the sweetest girl you will ever meet. I'm really excited to find a home where I can share all of my love with a family who will love me as much in return. At night I sleep on my very own bed right next to my foster parents' bed and I've just started having the run of the house during the day. I also have my own special house that my foster mom calls a 'crate' and am happy to be there when I need to be. I will play with other dogs briefly but mostly prefer my own space. I am working on going potty outside but, since this is my first time in a house, it's a work in progress. I do walk very nicely on a leash and only bark from time to time. So if you're looking for a new best friend, consider me, Lori! Lori is estimated to be 1.5 years old and 69 lbs. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative. Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis.If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
