Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Nari!  Born around February 2019, this spunky girl with stunning amber eyes is on the smaller side at 65 pounds.  She’ll probably be around 75 pounds when fully grown. Nari was apparently hit by a car prior to being picked up by a local animal shelter.  Then SPIN stepped in and took her to our veterinarian who found that Nari’s femur was broken, she had blood and fluids in her lungs and chest cavity.  She didn’t want to eat or drink.  Immediately she was put on I.V. fluids and oxygen. In the next day or two, she began eating and wagging her tail.  She was cleared for surgery and had her leg repaired.  Over the next few weeks, she healed nicely! Now she is happy and enjoying life!  She loves playing with other dogs and gets along easily with them.  She needs a big, playful dog companion in her forever home.  If you don’t already have one of those, adopt one from us! She eagerly explores everything around her, investigating countertops and tossing toys.  When outside, she barks with exuberance. She hopes for a family that will include her in their various activities around the home and in the neighborhood.  During this toddler stage of her life, she needs a person who is home a lot to keep her from getting into something she shouldn’t.  She has had her fill of being crated and wants no part of it anymore. She is house trained.  She needs a little more practice to perfect her leash training.  For now, she is a little hesitant when in new situations, but this will improve with practice. This come-back kid will grow into a wonderful family companion. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Cooper!  He is a special needs dog who is sweet, happy, bouncy, and full of love.  He will delight you with his silly, playful antics and his ever-present smile!  Born around October 2017, he is tall and slender at 90 pounds. He will sweetly lay at your feet as you enjoy your morning coffee, sleep on the floor next to you at night, and lounge on a couch during the day. Cooper was born with luxating patellas (knees that sometimes move out of proper position) and weak hocks (ankles that have poor ligament support).  Cooper’s best option is physical activity to continue strengthening his leg muscles.  No surgery is needed. Cooper is smart and learns quickly.  For his rehabilitation regimen, he has been to water treadmill therapy, physical therapy, and chiropractic adjustments where he has gone through obstacle courses, many sits and downs, cold laser therapy, and balancing on a wobble table!  He happily performs his tricks when offered chicken jerky or baby food! He likes playing with doggy friends.  He prefers to play gently while laying down, so his dog buddies need so be smaller than he is, and they also need to play gently.  He can go to a home where he is the only dog, as long as his human is home a lot to keep him company.   Cooper is a wonderful travel companion, and he behaves nicely in a car.  On the way to his adventure, he is smiley and active in the car, watching everything go past.  When the adventure is complete, he sleeps quietly the whole way home. He is wonderful on leash.  He is house trained and pet door trained.  He has no need for a crate; if he must be contained for some reason, he will tolerate being in a large exercise pen. He will sleep in a crate if its crate door remains open.  He is a Pyrfect gentleman while being bathed. His new family needs to be diligent about keeping him gently active and keeping his hind muscles strong so he can continue to adequately support his imperfect legs.   Cooper should never be placed in a situation where he could be bumped or charged by another large dog, because that could cause him irreversible and fatal damage.  If there are children in the house, they need to know not to lean on him or knock him off balance. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tarben!  Born around November 2018, this loving pup is still growing into his adult size.  He currently weighs around 75 pounds and will likely be around 85 when all filled out. While Tarben is at first shy with people who are new to him, he absolutely loves children.  He is extremely cautious around men, so they need to afford him a lot of patience as he learns to trust again.   After he knows you, he is very sweet, affectionate, and snuggly!  He loves to cuddle with you on the couch and bed.   He loves hugs!  He loves when you give him the signal that asks him to stand with his front paws on your shoulders so you can hug.  If you’re having a bad day, he gently lays his head in your lap. He really enjoys hanging out with other dogs, playing tug and wrestling.  He needs a playful doggie companion in his forever home.  (You can adopt a canine playmate for him from us!) He does not want to be alone; he needs people or dogs around him at all times. He would love to go to work with you every day!  He wants to be with an active family that includes him in their daily adventures. Tarben loves going for walks and he is very good on leash.  He enjoys investigating smells along the way.  He knows commands for sit, down, left, right, go potty, walk nice, go inside, sit, come, heel, and more! He is house trained and pet door trained.  He rides well in a car, laying in the back seat and sweetly laying his head on the console next to you. He likes wading in pools, but he doesn’t want to go past his knees. He is fine with cats and is used to living with them in the home.  He only sniffs them and leaves them alone. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Neva!  Born around December 2016, this super sweet girl is as well-behaved as a 5-year old dog, yet bounces around like a 6-month old puppy!  She weighs about 80 pounds and might get a little bigger – she loves her chow! Neva gets along with everyone she meets: humans, dogs (big and small), even cats. She does have a tendency to be a little mouthy, so she may not be suitable for homes with small children. Neva likes attention, and will happily crawl up in your lap to get it. But at the same time, she is happy to hang out by herself and chill. She is very food motivated, but not at all food aggressive. She will do a serious happy dance for her dinner! SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere.
