Story
Hazel is a Great Pyrenees and Malamute mix. She is a very special girl who has epilepsy that is being controlled with medication.Hazel was taken to Texas A & M to be evaluated by the best veterinarians in the state. They performed an MRI as well as several other tests to try to determine the cause of her seizures. The tests found nothing abnormal about her brain and no sign of any disease that could cause her seizures.Hazel is very gentle, sweet, and independent. She gets along well with all of my dogs as well as all fosters that I've had. She is bell trained, doggy door trained and fully house trained. Hazel needs a special adopter who will work in conjunction with a veterinarian to maintain her health and control her epilepsy. Her current medications cost roughly $150 per month at Kroger with their discount card. She also takes CBD oil twice a day. Hazel would love to meet you! Won't you give this sweet girl a chance?Hazel is available for introductions by appointment as she is currently living with a foster family. PLEASE EMAIL INFO@AARTEXAS.ORG TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENTEst. DOB: 11/23/1863 lbs.AAR does not transport for adoption

Story
Please fill out our short application - the link is below.   Hi there! My name is Louie and I’m pretty much the greatest! My foster mom says I’m loving, brave, and adventurous - I’ve even figured out how to climb very steep old stairs and get back down all on my own! Mostly I figured it out cus I really love the little boys who live here and just wanted to be with them when they went upstairs! Now that I’ve figured that out, I love going up and down the stairs to show off, or sometimes for no reason at all, it’s great entertainment! I’ve been here a few days and had so many new experiences and I couldn’t be more excited! We took a ferry ride and a several car rides. I didn’t mind that car at all, loaded right up and didn’t even complain once for the whole ride! I especially loved sticking my head out the window. My big floppy freckled ears flew right up into the air! It was the craziest thing, you should have seen it! We took that car to go pick up the little boys at school and even though I was a little overwhelmed by all the activity I was really happy to be there, all the kids at the school loved me and asked to pet me and begged their parents to let them bring me home. I hope I find a home with kids, and I’d be okay with cats even. They have cats at my foster house that I’d love to cuddle with, but they aren’t interested – even when I try to make myself very, very, small, but that’s okay. I’m all about respecting space, even the space of that grumpy resident dog who claims all the furniture. (but I’ll win em over eventually, I just know it!) I love playing and jumping around like a feisty lil goat with these big strong legs I’ve got, especially right after a bath. My foster mom says I’m a bit of a spazz, whatever that is. I really don’t love taking a bath, but will put up with it if you promise to brush me after. I love being brushed! Even though I’m already a real big house-trained boy, don’t be confused! I’m still a pup at heart. I love playing with toys and can decimate a stuffy faster than anyone you’ve met! Sometimes I’m curious about what it would be like to chew on other things in the house, but when my foster mom says no no, I make sure to listen and I stop straight away. Please, make sure to give me lots of good chew toys, and communicate with me so I don’t get in trouble. I don’t like being in trouble, so I do my best listen to redirection real good. I’m pretty sure if we do lots of training, I’d work hard to pick it up real quick. My foster mom asked me to dream of the perfect home. After a lot of dreaming, I’ve decided my ideal home would be a family with a back yard with a big fence so I don’t forget where the yard ends and get lost or hurt. I’d love to have a brother or sister to play with, and some kids would be great too. I want to live with people that love big fuzzy hugs because I give amazing big fuzzy hugs. Lastly, a giant dog bed surrounded by a 24 hour buffet, filled with steaks and toys and rainbows, and a full time hired ball thrower at my disposal/back door opener would be nice. My foster mom said that last bit might be a lil unrealistic… but this is MY dream, so it stays. Louie is currently being fostered in Vancouver, WA. Story
Please fill out our short application - the link is below.   Introducing ETSY! This puppy is growing fast and adapting well to the routine is her foster home. She loves to run, wrestle and play with her litter mates in the back yard. Like most puppies, they are looking for mischief, playing with toys, digging holes, barking at airplanes, and chewing on whatever they can pick up. Initially, she was shy and concerned about her new surroundings and caregivers, but now she is gaining confidence, and eager to please. Etsy and her family (two adult dogs and seven pups) were rescued from a flooded property in early February. GPRS received them after a six week stay in a shelter. She will require a family with another confident, playful dog, and assertive people that can provide positive training. Applicants should research Great Pyrenees and Akbash Dog breeds as the parent dogs have many physical traits of these breeds. Etsy is currently being fostered near Seattle, WA.
