Hello! My name is River, and I am an energetic, curious 1-year-old greyhound/lab mix looking for an adventurous family of my own. I seem shy at first, but I’m actually just a bit insecure. I need an active, patient family willing to help me learn about the world I’m so anxious to explore. I am crate trained, and I’d do best in a house with a yard. I would really love another dog to play with and maybe one who is confident and calm to help me understand the world is a place I can trust. I am extremely smart and eager to please. I love affection and snuggling with humans is one of my favorite things to do!When I get nervous, I get territorial and I have been a bit nippy, but mostly just warning strangers that they need to keep their distance. I really need training to overcome my fear, and I’ve been making great progress in classes lately. I love kids, and I get along with cats, although some of them find me a bit too playful. I love going places, especially outdoors, and learning new things with dogs and humans that I trust.If you’re looking for an adventure buddy who is willing to help me get over my insecurities, I will enrich your life with love and joy in many ways. Dogs are not placed on a first come first serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process.All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200.
