IZZY WAS FOUND ABANDONED IN A RENTAL APARTMENT WHEN HER OWNER MOVED OUT AND LEFT HER THERE. IZZY IS AN ADULT FEMALE, APPROX 2-3 YRS OF AGE, AND CRATE TRAINED. SHE CAN BE VERY AFFECTIONATE HOWEVER SHE WOULD PROBABLY DO WELL AS AN ONLY DOG AS SHE EXHIBITS A BIT OF AN "ALPHA" ATTITUDE. SHE IS VERY ATHLETIC AND FULL OF ENERGY AND WOULD MAKE AN EXCELLENT RUNNING COMPANION. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MEET IZZY, PLEASE CALL THIS RESCUE FOR AN APPOINTMENT.

Meet Kona! Kona is a male, 2.5 year old, Siberian Husky. He is 63 pounds.Kona was adopted from our shelter in November. He recently found himself surrendered to an Oregon shelter for escaping the yard. He was transferred back to us and we are again looking for a home for this boy!Kona is house trained and crate trained. When left alone, he was left loose in the home. He knows sit, down, stay and come. He enjoys going for walks and car rides. He does not do well with cats and will need a cat-free home. He will usually sit close to, or in contact with you. He will chase squirrels, rabbits or cats if given the chance. He tends to escape the home or yard if given the chance. He tends to pull when on leash. Kona is an active, curious boy! He will require daily mental and physical exercise. He would probably love urban mushing! Typical of the Husky breed, he is difficult to contain if he is left unattended for long periods of time and finds himself bored. Staff can give you lots of ideas on how to "husky-proof" your yard! Kona does need slow introductions to new dogs. He will need time to adjust and decompress from the shelter. If you have other dogs at home bring them in for a staff assisted meet and greet.Kona is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered and ready to go home today!

Story
Meet Paco! He is a 1.5-year-old Siberian Husky. He weighs 53 pounds. Paco arrived at the shelter as a stray. He has been in and out of the shelter a couple of times due to escaping the yard and this time his owner did not wish to reclaim him. He will need a SUPER SECURE, "husky proof" backyard and breed savvy owners! We have some staff members that have lots of personal knowledge of owning a husky and would be happy to provide all the tips, tricks and education you may wish to have! Paco is very sweet and playful, but can be a handful! He will need a home with bigger kids. He tends to be barrier reactive towards other dogs so we require a meet and greet with other dogs that may be in his potential forever home. He loves, loves, LOVES to talk and is the best dog to have a conversation with, but be warned, he WILL talk back. Like most huskies, Paco will probably jump over, dig under, or go through a fence if given the chance. Huskies were bred for adventure and they are always craving it! It would be best that he is never left outside unsupervised. He would make an amazing hiking buddy or adventure partner. He is not a couch potato dog. He will need structure, daily exercise, and mental enrichment. We believe he would do well with children but might try to jump on them as he has so much energy. He is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered and ready to go home. Come meet him today!

Story
Loki was adopted by my daughter. She had to move, and is now living in an apartment. He loves people and other dogs. We would keep him, but we have 3 dogs ourselves and just can’t have another dog. It breaks our heart him leaving the family, but he deserves a well loving home with room to run. He is so very careful, when he takes a treat from you, he gently takes it. He is a beautiful dog, and would love a family and kids to play with. Of course he is a brute, thinks he is a small dog. So he likes to sit on your lap. Does not understand her is 60pounds. Loves to play, and also would prefer to sleep with you and take up the whole bed. A gentle/playful soul is in this dog.

Story
Wilder here! You’re probably surprised to see me on the Moonsong Malamute Rescue website. Moonsong does not normally rescue Huskies, they are after all an Alaskan Malamute rescue, but thank DOG for Moonsong because I was going to be euthanized at the shelter I ended up in Utah because they don’t have an adoption program.Weighing in at 50ish pounds, I consider myself “fun sized”. I’m a bit of a lady’s man, preferring them over men. I’m known to be leash reactive to dogs bigger than me but for the most part walk well on leash unless a squirrel is in my sight, then I’m going to pull like crazy! No cats, small dogs or farm animals for me as I see them asprey. Cars are not my favorite thing either and sometimes I get car sick ☹My foster family has been working on my wanting to mark in the house when new guests arrive, or I get overly excited; sometimes I wear a belly band. I tolerate baths but I hate the blow dryer, but you brush me. I like to jump on people, so you may need to turn your back on me and use positive reinforcement (treats and praise) to help me learn appropriate behavior. My tummy is sensitive, I eat special kibble to help with my digestion. I should not be left alone in the yard because I can clear a 6’ fence and taking myself on a walk about. I can jump on the counter and like to chew socks and other items lying around, so crating me if you’re gone is a good idea. Lucky for you,I am crate trained and sleep quietly in my crate at night. Yah I know I’m not a Malamute, and have Husky quirks, but know there’s a home ourthere for me. Is it with you?
