Story
Between March 26th and April 8th part of my adoption is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Empty the Shelters Emergency Relief campaign, my new family can take me home for $25! Please apply online to start the adoption process. I cant wait to meet you! Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He is 4-5 years old and weighs 55 lbs.; he's crate trained and housebroken. He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn’t understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or dog similar in size would be ideal! Husky experience is required; he will not be placed in a home with cats or children. If you want to be a part of Avi’s recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! To adopt this pet, please visit www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Please note that our pets come from shelters, so we CANNOT guarantee age, breed, mix of breeds, or adult size. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt, and can be transferred to any pet. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call ASAP. If you would like to transfer your application to a different pet, please email your confirmation number to info@louieslegacy.org We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal. Please note that we do not perform same-day adoptions. Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!

Story
Between March 26th and April 8th part of my adoption is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Empty the Shelters Emergency Relief campaign, my new family can take me home for $25! Please apply online to start the adoption process. I cant wait to meet you! Meet Titan! Mr. Titan is looking for someone very special to spend the rest of his life with. At 10 years old, he sat in the shelter alone and completely shut down looking for a hospice adopter. The longer he sat, the larger the tumor on his hip grew. When Louie's Legacy met him, they knew there was no way they were going to let him die alone in the shelter and quickly picked him up to take him into a foster home. Upon examination from the vet, it was determined that the tumor on Titan's hip was cancer, so it was quickly removed. Because the surgery was so successful, Titan was given the gift of extra time. This sweet, 45 pound boy is still spunky as can be and despite his hearing loss, he still sings the songs of his people with the rest of his pack like a true husky should! He loves to lay on the couch and watch tv and is also happy to go for a short stroll outside. He's not a huge fan of his crate for long periods of time, but will go in there when needed. You just might get a dirty look while locking the crate! It is unknown if Titan's cancer will come back, or how much longer he has to go in life, but one thing is for sure, this boy deserves to live his best life for whatever time he has left. If you have a soft spot for a fluffy, older guy to lay his head, Titan is the guy for you! Apply today! Titan's adoption fee is $25.

Story
Jayda is a sweet, fun, gorgeous 10 year-old Siberian Husky that would be a wonderful dog for someone without other dogs in the home. She LOVES going for walks, learning tricks for treats, and just spending time around people. She is not good with other dogs, which makes it hard to find her another loving home with a dog lover! Although she hasn't indicated any issues with them yet, because of her bad history with dogs, we are concerned about how she would be with very young children and are hoping for a home without them to make sure this couldn't be an issue. We wish we could keep her, but we recently had a baby, and keeping Jayda apart from the baby out of an abundance of caution has made a situation where she isn't able to get the time that she deserves from us. She's wonderful with older children and adults, she's eager to please, active, well behaved, independent, and so sweet. She loves just relaxing with her people. We love Jayda and hope we find another good home that will too!

Story
Skip is a very handsome, but very careful, male Husky/mix. He was surrendered because his owners couldn't stop him from chasing cars. He is not a fan of other dogs, and needs to be the only pet in a household. Around 3 years old and 70 pounds. A beauty for sure! This dog is housed at the Franklin County Small Animal Control shelter. The Humane Society graciously allows the shelter dogs to be posted under their account, but they have no direct knowledge and can answer no questions about the dogs housed there. Please use the contact email address provided for any questions. Email adopt@ebrookville.com with any questions. We use the application available through the Franklin County Humane Society to help make a good forever home match. Online application available at members.petfinder.com/~IN19/adoptionapplication.html. Please use the contact email provided here if you are following up on an application. Story
Ace is a sweet 5 year old Siberian Husky. His color according to papers is Silver. We got him as a companion for our other dog and our then teenager as a pet. The teenager is now an adult and has now moved out and we have 3 small children. He does love children, but does not know his own strength, so has to be watched closely. I would love for Ace to have a home where someone is available to give him lots of love, play time, and walks/runs. He does like to dig holes in the yard and lay in them as soon as the weather starts to get cold. He needs a bit of training. He likes to jump up on people, and he is a runner. You must have a secure fenced in yard. I will get his shots up to date and send him to the groomer before sending him to his new forever home. You should also know, he sheds a lot, as he is a husky. Thanks for looking.

Story
Nori is a 6.5 year old, 48 pound, pure bred Husky that came to us from an Amish puppy mill. He has adjusted to being in a house fairly well, and is still working on learning to give warning when he needs to go to the bathroom. He has beautiful coloring, like a red panda, which shows up well in sunlight. Nori has taken to being spoiled and having creature comforts and toys. He is wonderful with other dogs and would enjoy having a doggy companion to hang out with. He is true to the husky breed and will escape out of a fence, by climbing, so he needs to be watched or be on a cable. He is working on improving his leash manners, and surprisingly doesn't pull very hard, but needs work to not dart after things when he's on a leash. Nori isn't fond of cages due to being locked up for most of his life. However, he is getting better with them and realizes they aren't his forever living spot now. At night he sleeps either on the bed or on the floor in the bedroom. He loves being around people and will curl up with them whenever he can. If you would like to meet Nori, please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.
