Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He is 4-5 years old and weighs 55 lbs.; he's crate trained and housebroken. He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn’t understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or dog similar in size would be ideal! Husky experience is required; he will not be placed in a home with cats or children. All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Please note that our pets come from shelters, so we CANNOT guarantee age, breed, mix of breeds, or adult size.

An application does not obligate you to adopt, and can be transferred to any pet. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call ASAP. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal. Please note that we do not perform same-day adoptions.
