Foster Home Feedback * NO Cats, Older considerate children only 3/30/2020: Hey Ladies, looking for that perfect man in your life? How about me? My name is Banjo (pretend you hear banjo music). I love long walks every day. People stop and tell me how gorgeous I am and I just nod and agree. An interesting fact you might not know about me is even though I love walks for as long as you can take me, the sight of approaching any stroller or cart makes me a little nervous. I didn't have much if any training prior to arriving at my foster home, which my foster parents have told me I can't go through life just based on my good looks and super-soft coat. One cool trick I did show them is that I give hugs, even on command! They said no dog has ever done that to them before! Things my foster parents have found out about me and we have been working on is crate training and potty training. My crate training is going great! In fact, I can spend all night in my crate now without any accidents... most of the time... oops. My potty-training is getting better but still needs a lot of work and patience from my furever family. Mostly due to my excitement when you get home, I give my hug and accidentally tinkle on your shoes a little (sorry). I respond very well in obedience training with high-value treats. My foster parents say it turns on my smart button. I don't know what that means but it sure does make them happy. Even though no dog is perfect, I think with proper direction and obedience, I can be pretty darn close......besides I already got the looks and love part down...ha! Couple things my foster parents said you need to know about me. I shouldn't be left alone in the house unattended because apparently I can't help but seek out your favorite pair of socks or shoes. At least for now until I get a little older and settled in a home but with me being so good at crate training has taken care of that, for the most part. I am very crafty and in the short time at my foster home, I have figured out how to open a few doorknobs and try the gate for the fence. I would need at least a 6ft fence that is very secure. Being on a tie out gives me the opportunity to let all my neighbors know what a large bark I have and how I can bounce around like a pogo stick. I love playing fetch and I love squeaky toys. Finally, my foster family wanted you to know that they really, really wanted to keep me, but have no choice to let me get adopted because I have a high prey drive for their family cat and they don’t want their cat to get hurt. If we put the time in together with plenty of training, patience, and high value treats I hope to be your best buddy for many, many years. 3/27/2020 Volunteer Feedback: What fun to come to the shelter and find a new dog like Banjo early in the morning! Such a happy young dog who loves to run and chase tennis balls! It was very cold that morning so we also played indoors and I was impressed that he didn’t try to mark indoors. Banjo is such a nice medium size and is such a handsome dude. I found when we went for a walk, it turns out he doesn’t tug on the leash. He’s sure to get snapped up so get your app in quick!Click here to watch a video of Banjo. To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org
