Story
REBA Breed: Siberian Husky / Adoption fee is $150 / Sex:  Female  / Age: Approximately 1-2 years old / Weight: Approximately 50 pounds  Well hello there! My name is Reba and I am a Siberian Husky! I am about one and a half and I have a lot of energy. Just like any other husky, I have a few party tricks. I love to run around like crazy and I would like to think that I have a beautiful singing voice. I will require a hot wire on a 6 foot fence. I can jump 6 foot fence and like to roam. If you want me to stay in your yard where I belong, you might want to supervise me until you are sure I am not going on any unplanned adventures. Other than that, I really am just a good ol girl who would really love a family of my own to have. I get along better with the boy dogs rather than the girls, as I am the alpha of my yard. I am vocal when I play so don't be alarmed, that's just me being me. Look, I know I look like every other husky out there, but if you come meet me, you'll realize I have my own special personality. Pet Angels is great and all but I want a home of my own. I am totally ready for it. Will you at least come by and meet me?  House Manners: Reba uses her doggie door in our dormitories to do her business. During her room test, she did pee on the floor but it might have been because she was unsure of the doggie door. The rest of the room test she just slept in a chair. Basic Training: Unknown, will evaluate soon Other Dogs: Good with other dogs but will do better in a home with Male dogs, due to high prey drive small dogs are not recommended Cats: Reba has a high prey drive and should not be around cats. Kids: Reba will do better in a home with older kids that are at least 7 yrs or older. Fencing: Huskies are know escape artist and should not be left outdoors unless unsupervised. Reba is able to jump a 6ft chain link type fencing. She should be in a yard with a hot wire or leash walked only. All of our Husky/Northern breeds require fence photos if you have a yard so we give tips on containment if needed. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines and gates after you send your application. This breed typically does better with a yard but we may have some Northern breeds or mixes that would be suited for apartments etc. please just ask. Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky you need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system (cost approx $100) this is quite often needed to preventing digging climbing or chewing through fences. A Hot wire is typically the best route to start with for a piece of mind. Installation is simple and can be done in under 2 hours on most yards. Northern breeds are beautiful dogs but are also a challenge and demanding and can be very destructive and hard to contain when there needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed on our home page. Also we likely have other Huskies or Malamutes for adoption find out by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org. The adoption fee is $150. This dog has had its age appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance . Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption: Please submit an Pre-Adoption Application by clicking our logo button below (if visible) or visiting www.petangelsrescue.org to show your interest in adoption (Only submit one app). This questionnaire simply helps inform us if the dog you are interested in might match your families dynamics based on what we have learned about that dog. All of our pets at Pet Angels Rescue are featured on our independent website and can be accessed from our PETS FOR ADOPTION PAGE, you may want to look at others at our facility you like as well. We do not have staffed phones for questions, please visit these pages on our main web site, Before You Adopt & Adoption Process & App. if you don't find the information you are needing please submit a E-mail.     Ok State Ag License #STL00034

Story
KAPER This Dog is a courtesy listing for its current caretaker. The dog is not in the care of Pet Angels nor a part of our rescue. We have listed him a Courtesy Listing in order to help in finding him a new forever home. We have been told by his owner that he is in need of new home due to housing circumstances.  Please understand the process may be a little different since the pet is not with Pet Angels. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. We have copies of his vet records. Kaper's owner says he is a well mannered boy with typical Husky behavior. His only issue is that he is very vocal which is typical of the Husky Breed. Once he gets his human's attention he calms right is a happy camper. He has been raised in the home with 10 yr. old boys and had no issues. While he has not exhibited any escape tendencies with his current owner he would need a least a 6 ft. secure fence and supervision in a new home while outside. Kaper would not be a good fit in a home with cats. Typical of the Husky breed, most have strong prey drives towards cats, squirrels, and other small animals. Updated pictures coming soon.    Adoption fee is $50, this dog is approx. 3 yrs old and 55 pounds I love to run and be around my people. I am talkative until I can get my people's touch. I was also very good when they took me to ( ouch ) get my yearly shots . The adoption fee is $50.This dog has had its Rabies Vaccination and is spayed or neutered. Other vetting may or may not be complete but we require the rabies vaccines and to be fixed to post the animal. Any additional medical needed would be at your expense through your vet. We encourage you to take any of our courtesy listed dogs to your vet to be checked for heartworms and other internal parasites and get any missing vaccines they may need. Some courtesy listed dogs may have all this done already and the caretakers will give you records at the time of adoption.  Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption: Please submit an Pre-Adoption Application by clicking our logo button below (if visible) or visiting www.petangelsrescue.org to show your interest in adoption (Only submit one app). Story
HUNTER Breed: Shepsky (Siberian Husky/German Shepherd) / Adoption fee is $100 / Sex:  Male / Age: Approximately 2  yrs old / Weight: Approximately 65-70 pounds  Hey there. My name is Hunter and I am a husky/shepherd mix. I have all the characteristics of your typical husky and shepherd. I like to dig, I like to run and play, and if you leave me alone too long, I will find ways to entertain myself. I WILL NEED EXERCISE and lots of it! Another cool thing about me is that I am attending dog training right now and learning how to be a good boy and listen. I have a good temperament, I just forget my size sometimes. So if you want to pair me with a dog of similar size, that would be pretty great, I play a bit to rough for some dogs. I like to play fetch and tug-of-war. I'm really good at those games. Look, I went from being a street dog to a shelter dog. I have adjusted well but I really am a people kind of dog. My own kin are fine and all, but I'd much rather be with you. Will you be the one to come get me? House Manners: When Hunter was housed in the kennel room he would keep a clean indoor kennel and potty outside with access to a doggy door.  He is now in group housing and there are no accidents in his 10 x 10 living quarters with access to a doggy door. According to his family who had him for a short while if they slacked on giving him exercise for to long he would get destructive. A tired or busy dog is a good dog.  Basic Training: Hunter knows sit, shake and down and learning new things. He needed leash work, but is he currently under going professional dog training so he should have these things down in no time he is a very smart boy. He is also crate trained.  Other Dogs: Hunter has accepted and adjusted well to the other dogs he has met here which have been similar sized. But he is very mouthy with his play styles and likes to take dogs down by the neck, so he will need a companion that can handle that in stride. Cats: Hunter has a high prey drive and small animals/cats are not recommended Kids: For a time, Hunter lived with children and did very well. He will excitably jump on people so small children would not do well with him. But with his new manners he is gaining in dog training he should get this under control.  Fencing: Many Northern breeds can be hard to contain.  Currently Hunter is in a well secured 6 ft. chain link fence and not escaping. Hunter is a known digger and will need to be supervised when outside. You can deter the digging by keeping him active and/or giving him a designated sand pit to play in within his yard in a shady place.  *The video says Jethro but it is Hunter, he is a smart handsome boy so we gave him a name to match. All of our Husky/Northern breeds require fence photos if you have a yard so we give tips on containment if needed. Story
BLUE Breed: Siberian Husky / Adoption fee is $150 / Sex:  Female  / Age: Just under 1 year old / Weight: Approximately 55 pounds  Hi All! My name is Blue and I've had a long trip to get here to Pet Angels. I originally came from Mexico and was surrendered by my people to Pet Angels because they didn't have time to take care of me. It was a bummer but the people here are really great. I'm your typical, high energy Husky pup. I haven't totally learned my manners but it's not my fault. I haven't had any training yet. I do know sit so I'm capable of learning new things. I don't try to jump the fence and I'm not destructive in the house or outside. I am good with children but I have a bad habit of jumping on people so older children would probably be better. I like riding in the car and being with my people. Won't you come take me home? I promise to work really hard to be your partner if you'll teach me what you want.  I'm waiting. Please hurry! House Manners: Blue is not housetrained. Basic Training: She knows sit. She is not leash trained and will jump on people. But it can be worked with and with proper training she can learn not to do that. Other Dogs: Unknown, but has not been aggressive to others. Cats: Blue did well during her cat test. Kids: Blue is good with kids but she jumps on people so older kids would probably be better. Fencing: Blue is currently in a 6 ft. run and has no history of jumping the fence or trying to escape. All of our Husky/Northern breeds require fence photos if you have a yard so we give tips on containment if needed. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines and gates after you send your application.
