Story
Beige/Blue Pt Siamese mix, short hair, female, born approx. 6/1/13, #13790Squirrel and Sox, her housemate kitty, were left alone when their guardian died. A person in the community who learned of their situation reached out for help, and upon the discovery that Sox had been adopted from The Rescue House as a kitten, we took in both cats. Sox has since found himself a new loving home, and Squirrel is ready to melt your heart!Squirrel is just about the sweetest cat you will ever have the extraordinary pleasure to meet. She is loving, cuddly, and gentle. Her demeanor and her expressively cute face, combined with her petite little body, lead to lovey-dovey nicknames: Baby Girl and Squirrely Girly are just a couple of her foster's favorites. Squirrel is not overly playful-at least not on her own-and is much more focused on people. Her soft fur feels ever so luxurious, and when combined with the endearing look that is always on her face as she gazes at you, you could hold her and carry her around for hours... or at least until your arms go to sleep! Happily-to give your arms a break-Squirrel enjoys sitting on your lap while you work at the computer and will "help" where she can with your typographic and writing skills. If not actively assisting you, she will perch next to you, just in case her expertise is needed, within your reach for petting when you pause for thought; she reciprocates all caresses with little licks of affection. The only caveat to Squirrel's exceptionalness is that she prefers to poo outside of the litter box. This is a life choice on her part, and we believe she has reasons that make perfect sense to her. A commitment to Squirrel involves accepting her motivations as valid and understanding that she merely finds the litter box to be an inappropriate place for this form of elimination. While her feelings lead to slightly more work for you, dealing with this minor inconvenience is well worth it to have such an incredible kitty companion.Although she would happily claim all your affection as your only kitty, Squirrel lives with other cats in her foster home, and their relations are peaceful so long as her peers are not too assertive...while Squirrel doesn't start tussles, she won't back down if another kitty initiates one. She has not mixed with her foster's resident cat-savvy dog, but they have seen each other and Squirrel did not seem concerned. She would likely ignore a dog who ignores her. Calm and gentle kids over 10 years old should be okay.If you are looking for a precious loving kitty to make a wonderful addition to your home... Squirrel is ready to show you that she's the perfect fit!
