Story
Sammy is a 2-3 yr old recently neutered apple head flame point Siamese cat. He is absolutely gorgeous. At first I thought him standoffish but the more time I spend with him the more open he is to laying beside me and being stroked and letting me hold him to scratch behind his ears. I guess I would describe Sammy as a cat that you would need to earn his trust. Let him be him and he’ll come around. He was previously living outdoors so don’t leave any escape routes! He now seems comfortable indoors. He is very vocal when he wants something such as more food or human contact. Sometimes he will reach out with his paw touching my arm because he wants the continued attention. I would not recommend Sammy for families with young children. I don’t think he would like having his tail pulled and would definitely not like being teased. But for the right owner, Sammy is a prize to be cherished.Community Concern for Cats is an all-volunteer rescue organization helping homeless and abandoned cats in Contra Costa County. Learn more about our adoption process, locations, fees, and download an application at http://www.communityconcernforcats.org/adoptions/adoption-process/.

Story
Please contact Sara (snrieck@yahoo.com), (925) 917-9121 for more information about this pet. SPECIAL NEEDS young lilac-point, apple-faced snowshoe boy looking for forever home.   Derby was found in Martinez near the County Animal Shelter.  He was not neutered and was hungry and sick with an upper respiratory infection. But with love, security and food he cleaned up to be a handsome, playful little bugger who likes to snuggle on your lap when he's done being crazy.  Derby is under two years old and loves to tear around the house like a Tasmanian devil.  He plays with everything:  feathers, balls, keys and tubes of Chapstick.    Derby has feline asthma so he needs a savvy home that can be vigilant of the symptoms and provide veterinary care as needed.  He has only ever had one episode.  I have the medications that will be needed.    Please contact me if you would be interested in fostering or adopting this boy. Thank you and please tell your friends and co-workers about Derby.   Sara Rieck 925-917-9121    Community Concern for Cats is an all-volunteer rescue organization helping homeless and abandoned cats in Contra Costa County. Learn more about our adoption process, locations, fees, and download an application at http://www.communityconcernforcats.org/adoptions/adoption-process/.

Story
Sandy is a siamese mix, petite, about a year old.  She came to us through our clinic when she came in to be spayed and was destined to go back outdoors to a life on the streets.  Sandy had experience with people but wasn't super comfortable with them.  She's come along and now stands up to be pet and LOVES having her back scratched from top to bottom, bottom to top and back and forth.  That's been the magic trick to soften her with us.  She's making wonderful progress and will make a sweet and pretty pet for a quiet home.  She and Bunker are bunk mates and would do well together but could do alone.  Each would be best with another nice cat as a friend.  It will require some patience as Bunker transitions to a new home but he can do it! If you are interested, please get in touch by email or phone call. gemmaos@sbcglobal.net 925 708-8395Community Concern for Cats is an all-volunteer rescue organization helping homeless and abandoned cats in Contra Costa County. Learn more about our adoption process, locations, fees, and download an application at http://www.communityconcernforcats.org/adoptions/adoption-process/.
