Story
The staff think I am a Jindo which is of Korean descent and is a well-proportioned, medium-sized dog used for hunting and guarding. The Jindo is brave, alert and careful, not tempted easily and impetuous. And so far the staff says this is right on and the veterinarian agrees with them, I am at The Brittany Foundation because my human family was unable to keep me safe and I kept wandering off. In my travels, I met a new friend who goes by “Socks” and we are now safe, loved and waiting for our forever homes. We are a bit of an odd couple but we get along great.” PLEASE NOTE: Because we require home checks, adoptions are restricted, to the Los Angeles area only.

Story
Chance had never known a caring hand before coming to the rescue. He lived as a street dog until we had the chance to catch him. He has come a long way, but is still working on his confidence. He is a very sweet and playful boy that is just learning what the good life is like and he would love to find a home where he can continue learning! He is not housebroken, but shows tendencies in his kennel that shows that he does not like going to the bathroom in his "home" and he is a very fast learner, so I have no doubt it would not take him long to figure it out. He is still working on his basic commands and manners, but he walks well on a leash until he gets super excited and has mini zoomies, but he loves going on his little walks! He can be a bit of an escape artist, so a house with a yard that he cannot escape or an apartment would be fantastic. While he is an absolute sweetheart and we believe he would never hurt a soul, he is still learning that humans are a good thing, so we suggest a household with only Adults or highschool kids that know to respect a dog and his space.

Story
Coconut! He's a super smart guy and very sensitive. Like so many Jindos, Coconut bonds with one person (his main caretakers) very strongly but is suspicious of new people. He will need a calm, adult household with yard access. We would love to find a home with someone who had a Jindo before. Little Coconut is very delicate and needs some patience. A relaxed and common sense person would be ideal for Coconut. He loves to go for walks, he loves to goof around and be silly. Will you be the one to make this sweet boy happy! Thank you for your interest in adopting/fostering. Please make sure to read the dog's bio carefully. We get to know the dogs very well to make sure, they find the right match for their forever home. Due to limited staff during this crisis, please only contact us, if you meet the basic criteria listed in the dog's bio. This dog is not looking for a foster home, but rather a forever home. Story
(Will add more later) Adopted while original owners lived in Shanghai, China. They had him for 6 years. He's not good with little kids, and bit their kids too many times to where they don't want to risk having Barley around their kids anymore. I took in Barley knowing there was some protective aggression issues, but his separation anxiety and other anxious issues are too much for me to handle at this time. I don't want to get rid of him, but I accepted that I'm not willing to put in the work necessary to fix his issues at this time in my life.

Story
Breed: Mountain Dog Age: 6 yrs. Weight: 40 lbs. Good with dogs: yes Good with cats: unsure Good with kids: yes if older Energy level: high Good with men/strangers: unsure Hypoallergenic: no Special home requirements or medical: Albert needs to have a house with an enclosed secure yard Additional info: Albert was adopted from us in 2014. He came to us after suffering abuse in Taiwan. His family loves him and appreciates what a special dog he is. He gets along wonderfully with his family and their toddler but he has a fear/aggression reaction towards people (and kids) he doesn't know and this has become very difficult for his family. Sadly, they think he would be better suited to another home. They are devastated to surrender him as he has come such a long way. He knows the commands SIT and LIE DOWN and will come when called off leash. He is incredibly loyal and intelligent. He has had quite a journey so far. They took him from an unhappy dog, extremely aggressive towards everyone, to a loving and valued member of the family. He had lots of intensive training and he is now happy and comfortable with people he knows and with people he gets to know over time. He is gentle and intuitive with the toddler and loves his family. But he will become aggressive with the majority of people who enter his home with whom he is unfamiliar. His family is concerned about having other children in the home and as their child grows and has play dates this will become more and more a concern. He's a wonderful watch dog and will make a wonderful addition to another family.
