Story
60 lb good boy!PJ was found as a stray and was very skinny with bite wounds and scratches all over him. He was very terrified of everything and didn't know what a leash was and cowered if anyone reached a hand towards him. He is gradually regaining his health and becoming a happy, wiggly boy who LOVES his treats and knows how to sit to get them. His foster mom is taking great care of him and as soon as he gets a little healthier, he can be neutered and start meeting people who want to be his forever family. Story
70 lbs and on a diet to meet his goal weightSpencer would love to have a foster home for the holidays! Spencer is a Jindo with the personality of a Golden Retriever! This happy boy wags his tail and smiles all the time! He is quite social with humans unlike many aloof Jindos and likes attention and affection. He doesn't seem to care for male dogs much and we are still finding out what he thinks about girl dogs and other animals. Spencer came into us even though we are an Akita Rescue because he is a BIG boy who needs some help with weight management. At his proper weight he will probably be about 50-60 lbs and let's just say that he needs to lose a few lbs. to get there. Maybe he could be a walking buddy and you can motivate each other? Please email apassionforpaws@gmail.com to meet SPENCER!Visit Akita Ranch 28930 Ellis Ave, Romoland, CA, Open 10-5 daily. Email apassionforpaws@gmail.com for adoption information. Story
Boris is a 6 year old Jindo mix. Big, active boy. He can be uncertain with strangers, but he loves to give hugs to people he knows. He's a favorite of our dog walkers- such a loving and well behaved guy. Leash trained. He's been fine with other dogs, and he is even calm when he sees our goats. His best pals are big girls. Neutered and has his shots. Microchipped and leaves with new leash, collar and all medical records.&#226&#128&#139 Are you my furrever family? For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions.  All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and  fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.   Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries and dentals. We also spend time socializing. Furthermore, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees start at $150 and go up to $750. The higher end is for our most in demand dogs, such as puppies, young beagles, and hard-to-find purebred dogs. In special cases, for purebred puppies, we may go beyond this and charge $1000. The lower end is for dogs that have been here for a while. The good news is that, because rescues fall under the "charity" category, the fees for our dogs are officially donations and are therefore tax deductible. You can think of it as donating to a worthy cause and getting a dog in return!  The beauty of coming to our Apple Valley sanctuary is that you can see all 90+ dogs.  Email your application and ask for more details. Sponsor Me Beagles & Buddies must find ways to raise money so we can continue saving dogs. Your tax-deductible donation keeps our rescue kennel operating!  Hours Friday:  10 am to 3 pm Saturday:  10 am to 3 pm Sunday: 10 am to 3 pm Monday: CLOSED Tuesday: CLOSED Wednesday: CLOSED Thursday: CLOSED &#226&#128&#139 Weekday appointments may be available.  We are a small staff and do our best to accommodate your needs. Contacting Us If you have a question about adopting, giving up a dog, boarding, or volunteering, please visit the appropriate tabs on our  home page. For more specific questions, call 626-444-9664 (please leave a voicemail if no answer).  Emailing  is always welcomed and preferred!   Thanks!
