Story
+++ REQUIRES ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOME +++ NAME: MR. DOCTOR MAN (named after a song by Palaye Royale) LITTER: MR. DOCTOR MAN is part of the "PALAYE ROYALE" litter". AGE/GENDER: Baby 8.1.19, Male BREED: KOREAN JINDO MIX TEMPERAMENT: Shy, rambunctious, inquisitive WEIGHT: estimated adult weight 40-50 lbs HOUSE TRAINING: Not yet! He is a baby so he'll need a consistent schedule with multiple opportunities daily to go outside while he works on it. Puppies should not be considered reliable in regard to housetraining until 6-12 months of age. They're a lot like toddlers, who require diapers! CRATE TRAINING: Good, he's young and trainable! OTHER DOGS: GREAT! He will need continued socialization, like all puppies! CATS: Good! Continued socialization will be important! CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 12 and older - Mr. Doctor Man is fearful of children and their quick movements ADOPTION DONATION: $500 HEALTH: MR. DOCTOR MAN is healthy! Prior to adoption, puppies will be altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs.  HISTORY: MR. DOCTOR MAN came to us via our friends Go Rescue Korea. He is a survivor of the dog meat trade and flown here from Korea to have a chance at a better life. NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: MR. DOCTOR MAN is a puppy so he's playful and has a lot of puppy energy! He is super cute and fun, but a lot of work. His forever family should be committed to lots of training - obedience, housetraining, and socialization. This will ensure that MR. DOCTOR MAN grows into a confident, well behaved adult! Puppies' personalities are dependent on their environment, and the structure and training they are given, in addition to socialization. Their personalities continue to grow and be shaped by their new adoptive families. Puppy daycare and socialization classes or puppy kindergarten are highly recommended for their personal development. He will more than reward you for all your hard work with lots of love, loyalty, and laughs.   MR. DOCTOR MAN is a former meat dog. As such, he's learning how to interact with people and other dogs. He does great with other dogs, but can be a little pushy as a teenage male can, but takes direction easily. Because of this he will need a dog his size or larger. A confident friendly adult dog who can help mentor him and show him the world is not a scary place. Because right now, for Mr. Doctor Man, it can be a little overwhelming. Once he knows you, he loves to give kisses and play. He's learning not to jump on your in his excitement. He will need a patient and loving home who will take the time to give him the training and socialization he needs. All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo does not have a traditional shelter location, but instead, utilizes private foster homes which care for the animals individually, in a home environment, until a "furever" home is found. Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment" Dog Daycare & Training Studio in Redmond, WA which is a day-use facility and does not hold kennels of adoptable animals. The dogs there are owned animals who come to the facility while their families are at work and school so they can play and socialize in a safe environment. We dub this service our "Year-round" fundraising program which helps us support our rescue animals and the $15,000/ month vet bills we incur. This Studio location does have an Adoptable Cat Lounge, where cats may live until adoption, which is the exception to any aforementioned rules. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application so we can get you started on the journey to finding a new, furry friend! Once you have been approved to adopt, then we can set up a meeting with the animal you have been matched with. For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org. Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need! Woof, The Motley Zoo Crew

Thanks for your cooperation!*** WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Renton, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to cover medical bills. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase QuickPay, PayPal, or cash. Sori  Sori 1 year old, 28 lbs roughly, female, Sapsali/Jindo mix possibly, heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, up to date on shots & treated for giradia to be on the safe side. Sori & her friends who were also rescued from the most horrific situation that is soul destroying. They were rescued from a filthy unimaginable side of the road meat farm where dogs were for human consumption with absolutely nothing to protect them from the elements even the hottest day in Summer in Korea. Thankfully the amazing Korean rescue went in & rescued everyone who was there & saved their precious lives. Sori was rescued by the amazing Korean rescue & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Sori was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving forever home. As we know this angel on earth was from a pure death camp & deserves to be cherished & adored as she should be. Sori loves to play with other dogs so she would definitely need another playful dog or dogs in the the home so this is mandatory in her new loving forever home. She would also do best with a home with a fully fenced backyard. Sori also was with Sarang another little dog from Korea who adore each other. This lady is affectionate & wants you to pat & rub her face but at first she takes a long while to warm up to. Sori absolutely loves, loves to play with toys & especially squeaky toys. Sori will still need to put on weight as when she was rescued she was very thin but definitely still loves to eat. We are working on putting weight on this lovely girl. As you can imagine everything is new to this little lady. Sori truly loves to be cuddled & given love, she has not been picked up & carried to much but we have picked her up & carried her so this is new to her. Sori rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good car ride. This sweet girl still needs to be taught to walk on a collar & leash or harness as of course this is all new to her. Sori has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs so she must go to a forever home with another dogs present in the home as she truly loves other dogs & loves to play with them. Sori is is roughly 28 lbs, 1 year old, perhaps a Sapsali/Jindo mix, female & still needs to put on weight which we are working on, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her shots, heart worm negative & dewormed & automatically treated for giradia. We have spent more financially on Sori than her adoption fee covers, on rescuing her & transporting her, socializing her here along with her medical care that her fee does not come close to her costs we have spent on her & rescuing her. Sori has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We do think a home with older children would work with dog experience. We were not there when Sori was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.  As with all of our rescues & Sori’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Sori potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.  We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Sori & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Sori who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Sori has an adoption fee of $765 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Sophie is perhaps a Jindo mix, she is 2 years old, she is 15 lbs, spayed, microchipped, up to date on her shots, and heart worm negative. We have no way of knowing for sure what breed Sophie is mixed with. This sweet pup has been through so much and is looking for her forever family. Poor sweet baby doll Sophie was facing a horrible fate in a kill shelter in Korea until the rescue we work with asked if we could take her in. Sophie was scheduled to be euthanized on the day she was rescued. Sophie was extremely thin, underweight, malnourished and needed help. Sophie went to the vets in Korea and then went into a foster home until she was brought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen. The adorable Miss Sophie is all muscle now as her foster family has been working with her to put on the weight she needed. Sophie is so very gentle and affectionate, a little shy at first but once she knows you she warms up. She absolutely loves to be loved. Since being in her foster home she has truly transformed into who she was always meant to be. Sophie has so much energy so we are looking for a forever family for her that includes other playful dogs. She needs a home with a fully fenced yard and a family who is willing to walk her every day to burn off that energy. She would be a great hiking partner, too. Sophie does great with other dogs, cats, people, and older children. She lives with older children in her foster home, but we have not had her around young children so we're not sure how she would do with them. As with all rescue dogs, Sophie will need work on house and obedience training in her new home, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on. Sophie has an adoption fee of $685 and is ready for her truly loving forever home.
