Story
This is Pongo. He is about a year and a half old. We adopted him 3 months ago. When we were first looking to adopt, we told the shelter that we needed a dog that got along with other dogs. We have a 9 year old German shepherd named Lola. Pongo was the only available dog that fit this criteria. We set up a meet and greet between the two. We were a little on the fence because Pongo was very high energy, and Lola is older. We weren’t sure if she would be able to keep up. The shelter assured us that things would get better between the two with time. Unfortunately, things have not improved. Pongo is a fantastic dog on his own. He is a sweet, loving, and energetic pup. We have taught him a couple tricks. Definitely intelligent. He is just not a good fit for my family and my dog. He would be a great pet for a home without other dogs or younger dogs that can match his energy, although, I believe no dogs would be better for Pongo. He definitely needs to be exercised so someone active.
