Story
Celine is the most delicious Goldendoodle mix. At 10 months old and 57 lbs., she has a bit of growing left. A rough and tumble gal, this angel loves playing outside with her people and her canine buddies. After playing, she is content laying outside and soaking in the fresh air, so she would like a forever home with a fenced yard. Celine also enjoys her cuddle time and hilariously flops to the ground and rolls over for belly rubs. Butt scratches are also a favorite of hers. Although she is generally a quiet girl, she can be a little "stubborn" at times, but fortunately she is food motivated. This sweetheart has the warmest eyes and the most precious happy wiggle. Celine rides well in the car, is housetrained, and knows basic commands. Albeit begrudgingly, she will stand to have her feet wiped when she comes in from the yard and is well behaved in the bath and at the groomer. Although we believe Cher and Celine are Doodle mixes, they are NOT hypoallergenic and DO shed. Because they are still largely exploring the world with their mouths, we will not be adopting them to a home with children under the age of 12. These girls are active puppies, who need continued stimulation and structure. They would do best in a dog experienced home with a fenced yard. Celine and Cher are currently in a loving foster home, where they will stay until they find the right forever home, so please do not apply if you do not fit the criteria listed above. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here:(https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. All fields on the application must be completed in order for our volunteers to process it (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Beautiful Bennie is a gentle 1-year-old Labradoodle who is approximately 45 pounds. He has the most soulful brown eyes and deep black coat, which is short now (he was so matted he needed to be shaved) but soon it will grow into lovely silky doodle curls. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Bennie was terribly neglected and had little exposure to the world, so is gaining confidence day by day. In his loving foster home, this smart boy is quickly learning that people are kind, and that food helps make the world a much less scary place. Bennie is crate trained and is making good progress with basic commands. He is a good listener and is almost fully housetrained. After just a few days in foster care, he started happily playing with his foster doggie buddy and he's now also starting to discover the joy of playing with toys. Bennie's foster mom says that he is starting to explore his new surroundings more inside the house, and outside he likes to sniff around but is tentative with strangers. The sudden movements and high energy with young children would startle him, so Bennie would do best in a home with children over 12. After initially being confused by the leash, Bennie quickly learned to enjoy walks and is happy to curl up near his foster mom for a well deserved snooze. Given how easily startled Bennie is, he would do best in a home with a physically fenced yard. He is already learning to look to his foster mom for affection and positive reinforcement, and glimpses of his sweet loving gentle nature are already starting to emerge. Given his history, Bennie is looking for a calm home with a patient new family who will give him time to form a trusting bond. Bennie needs encouragement and understanding in order to become the beautiful, carefree butterfly he was meant to be. He would be happy with an easygoing dog friend to help build his confidence or could also be very happy as your one and only. Story
Cher is a 10 month old, 51 lb Goldendoodle mix, with just a bit more growing to do. Smart and eager to please, Cher falls into routine very quickly and is highly food motivated. She is hilarious to watch as she roots around in her toy box for something to play with, and she loves spreading her toys all over the family room. Always excited for an adventure, Cher approaches everything with a positive attitude. She has a blast running and playing with her sister and her canine buddies in the yard and likes to play fetch as well. Sweetest of all is when she snuggles up on the couch or in bed with her people (and boy is she a delicious cuddler!). Cher rides well in the car, is housetrained, and knows basic commands. Albeit begrudgingly, she will stand to have her feet wiped when she comes in from the yard and is well behaved in the bath and at the groomer. Although we believe Cher and Celine are Doodle mixes, they are NOT hypoallergenic and DO shed. Celine and Cher are currently in a loving foster home, where they will stay until they find the right forever home, so please do not apply if you do not fit the criteria listed above. Please note that Cher has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia in her right hip. She is on a joint supplement regimen and will only be adopted to a family who will continue to provide this care for her. Story
I adopted Hunter when i was 18 at a shelter in North Carolina where i was attending college. He has always been very well trained and protective. He looks after the house and we have two small kids in my household who he loves taking naps near. He is going to be 6 years old his birthday is in June. I am looking for a loving adopter who will have time for Hunter. I am still in school, traveling a lot for work, and i don’t give him the same attention i used to. He deserves better than that he’s a wonderful dog. I will miss him but i need to do what’s best for him.

Story
Dustin was surrendered to us when his family fell on hard times. He is a sweet lab mix, maybe around 2 yo. He is a great dog, just doesn’t appear to have had much training. Dustin, so far has been around female dogs and does well. We aren’t sure about male dogs, cats or kids. We think he is smart, and does pick up things quickly, he just needs a family who is committed to helping him be the best boy he can be. If you think that is you and your family, please fill out an application, which can be found on our website www.careofdc. org (no spaces)
