Story
If you do not see a dog posted on our site that you feel is a good fit for your situation, please come back and visit us again. Our Adoptable Pets page is regularly updated with new pets.  There are currently a number of dogs in foster care being assessed and/or receiving medical treatments who will be coming up for adoption as soon as their foster parents feel they are ready to find their forever homes. Ugly Mutts Rescue Team works very closely with a number of pounds and shelters and are continually assessing dogs that are in need of rescue to be brought into our care.   We also work with caring pet owners to help them find suitable, loving homes for their pets when for some unfortunate reason they are no longer able to continue caring for them. Fostering is a good opportunity for those who are considering adoption but have not yet determined whether they are wanting to make a lifetime commitment to a pet.   Ugly Mutts Rescue Team is very good at selecting dogs that are a good match for their foster family's situation which is why so many of our rescued dogs are adopted by their fosters and never make it to the adoptable pets page.  We can only save the number of pets that we have foster homes to care for them so, please consider helping Ugly Mutts save lives and become a foster parent today. Story
Tank has a brown short smooth coat with a patch of red ticking on his chest, soulful brown eyes, and extra-large floppy ears. Tank has a gentle, easygoing personality. Tank is approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 53 lbs. Here is what Tank’s foster family had to say about him: Tank is a super happy boy. He just wants to be loved and to play. He will make some family very happy. Tank appears to be a healthy boy. He is medium/ high energy. He is perfect candidate for dog parks and long walks. Tank is a super friendly dog. He does very well playing with other dogs and is good with children of all ages. He does not display shyness towards people. Tank has not shown any signs of aggression. Tank enjoys the company of other dogs. Tank has not been introduced to cats while in our care. When we leave the house, Tank is crated. He barks on occasion, but he settles quickly. Tank does not show any signs of anxiety or fear. Tank enjoys long walks, sniffing and running around the yard and playing with other dogs. He will benefit from regular exercise such daily walks and dog parks. In the house he likes to be with his people. He has discovered the dog bed and enjoys relaxing there. He loves smelling around in the kitchen. Tank has been very well mannered around the house. He is tall and is able to get on the counters to look around but hasn’t grabbed or chewed on anything. Tank knows basic commands such sit and come. Tank is fully house trained. Tank is crate trained. He may bark on occasion but quickly settles. We have left him for up to 6 hours without issues. Tank can benefit from more consistent leash training. He likes to smell and will go where his nose goes. Tank hasn’t tried to escape. Tank likes to be in the front seat of the car, if it’s not already taken. Tank is a very sweet boy who enjoys family time, playtime and kibble time. He is super easy going and adapts quickly to his surroundings. Tank will do great in any family situation. He will make an amazing companion and the most loyal of friends! Story
This is is Danny. He is so adorable. He's around 1 year old. I hate to have to list him as a nervous dog, because in reality, once he comes out of his shell in his new home, he will probably be a completely different dog. But right now, he's new to the shelter, and super nervous. He doesn't trust people yet. He will need a home where his people will help him gain their trust and come out of his shell on his own terms. Whoever adopts him and gets to see hi m flourish will be very lucky! To apply to adopt, please fill out the application form here: https://homeboundhoundz.com/application-form
