Story
04/04/20 17:07 Juno was surrendered to the shelter because her owner lives on base and with the fences being very short, Juno was able to jump them and would consistently run off. Since Juno spends time outside when her owner is not home, this was not safe for her and her owners hoped she could find a home that was more suited to her needs. Juno is said to be curious about babies, playful with children, and friendly with adults. Juno is playful with dogs but has not lived with cats or small animals. Juno is housebroken (paces by door) and kennel trained, she rides well in a car and generally minds well. Per her previous owner Juno needs a place to run and could have potential as a hunting partner if trained for it, as she seems to like following animal scents. Juno likes to play with toys and is ready for a forever home that can give her the exercise and activity she needs to be happy!

Story
*You must already have a friendly, confident dog to adopt Copper!* Copper is a 1-year-old Labrador with a heart full of love and a touch of shyness. This sweet, gentle boy is a certified cuddle enthusiast who bonds deeply with his people once he feels safe. While the world can be a little overwhelming for him, having a confident dog friend by his side makes all the difference. Copper must go to a home with a friendly, confident dog to help show him the ropes and give him the courage he needs. With a buddy by his side, Copper blossoms-he's more willing to meet new people and even enjoys playful adventures. On his own, he's quite timid and may hide until he feels secure. At home, Copper is house trained and loves to relax with his family, soaking up all the affection he can get. Once he's comfortable, his playful, energetic side shines-he's a big fan of hikes and other outdoor activities. He is house trained as long as he is kept on a routine. He is nervous of young kids and would likely do best in a home with teens and up. We do not know how he is with cats. If you have a welcoming dog and a patient, loving heart, Copper might just be the perfect addition to your family. He's ready to trust, love, and thrive with the right support! If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter
We'll also keep you updated on Copper's adoption status with email updates.
