Story
Meet Toby! Toby has been with our rescue for over a year now. Toby is originally from Texas and has been through so much. Toby likes going on walks and hikes and loves playing fetch. He is a smart, loving boy who has had a hard past. We are hoping that someone will see the light in his eyes and give him a chance. A few months ago Toby went through a board and train program to overcome/learn new ways to manage his fear. He has learned so much and we are so grateful for their knowledge and time. Toby can be fearful of new people and is selective of the dogs he likes. It is possible that he could live in house with another dog but it would have to be the right personality match. Because we have invested so much into Toby's growth it is imperative that his foster or adopter be on board with continuing this work, or he might need to redo the board and train program. Toby's adopters will have the support of these trainers for the rest of his life. His adopters will also be required to meet with his trainers to ensure success of adoption. We will never give up on Toby but truly hope that he finds a home soon. While Toby is getting continued training, care, play time & love a boarding facility is not the forever situation we want for him or that he deserves. Can't adopt or foster Toby? Would you consider liking, sharing this or even donating to his care? Toby's weekly bill is around $150. Thank you!

Story
Achilles needs a home with just adults in the household. He has lived with small dogs and cats however while he might not hurt them a lot of times other animals don’t like him for some reason. We had a cat that took 3 months to warm up to him once. I’ve had him since he was a young rambunctious pup and am sad to try to find him a new home. However after certain circumstances where no one in my family can help me I need to find him a reliable home to go to! He’s a great dog, loves yards, And long walks (however he does have leash aggression to other dogs on the leash only). We feed him boiled chicken livers with some dry kibbles and occasionally give him probiotics.

Story
Tater is an absolute sweetheart that needs a home that will have time to care for him and train him. I adopted tater a little over a year ago when I was living in Texas. Once I moved back to Denver, Tater has not been able to live a full and happy life he deserves. He enjoys cuddling, going for hikes and car rides, and playing with other dogs. Unfortunately since our move, he’s become a bit aggressive towards strangers and needs training for meeting new folks that come into the house. He has bit 3 people, none of which were fatal, but I do not have the time or money to spend on getting him trained. Tater would be perfect for someone who needs a companion and has a backyard for him to play in. He will snuggle and cuddle you all day. Tater is house trained and great on a leash as well. Please help me give Tater the life he deserves!

Story
I found Boots wandering outside an apartment complex in the parking lot. I asked one of the tenants about him and he told me that a couple moved out the day before and abandoned him. I opened the courtyard door of the apartment complex and let Boots in. Once Boots was in the courtyard he paced for over and hour and scratched at his past home door to try and get back in. It was December 23rd and our family took him in and immediately took him to the vet to check for a microchip and shots. We decided we would keep him through Christmas. He is the sweetest most loving dog ever. At first, Boots was timid and scared to even approach us, however after calling him over and a little help from beef jerky his sweet personality blossomed. I don't know too much about Boots however, I know that I updated his shots and want to find him a good home. He is a sweet dog that needs a loving home.

Story
Hi - this is Mira. She is about 3 years old. She’s a great dog - very loving and attached to me. She is, however, nervous around new people and new dogs and - though she isn’t aggressive - will shy away for a good 20 minutes typically before coming around - and then she’s extremely playful. She has never spent time with kids, so she is pretty fearful of them. I’ve never seen her be aggressive toward anything, however. A perfect new home would be one that had another similar sized and friendly dog, a fenced yard, and owners who aren’t gone for more than 6-7 hours. Words to describe Mira: loving, dedicated, nervous, playful

Story
Meet Parker, this handsome little 5 month old Dalmation mix hasnt had the best start to life. Before coming to CARE he was in a home where he wasnt given the proper puppy attention. After a bad interaction with a cat Parker's family dumped him at the city shelter. Because of this abandonment Parker has some trust issues with humans. He is very sweet but he can be a little reserved at first. He is hoping to fin a patient adopter that is willing to give him the love and training that all puppies need! Parker is currently in a foster home getting spoiled and started on goodboy lessons. If you would like to find out more about Parker and speak with his foster family please fill out an application at www.caretx.org/adopt and CARE will be in contact with you soon! This dog was rescued from a kill shelter or the streets and has been evaluated for medical and temperament to prepare for a forever home and is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas* and is ready to fly to its final destination once adopted. The adoption fee of $850 covers spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and air transport. Please email Emily at adoptions@caretx.org if you have any question. * CARE rescue is in San Antonio, TX where we have a serious pet overpopulation situation.
