He loves just hanging outside watching anything and everything!

I have lots of energy and I love to carry my stuffed animals around. I am shy at first and it would be great if I had a doggy friend to show me the ropes. Once I get to know you I am your best friend and would love to be by your side. Since I do love to run and play a home with another active dog and a fenced in yard would be best. Come and meet me right away! I had my right front leg amputated recently due to a car accident but I don't let that keep me down! I still adjusting but I love to play & run! I'm learning all kinds of new things like walking on a leash, sitting, sleeping in a crate and letting my people know when I need to go out to potty. I love to be outside! Naps in the sun are my favorite thing! I enjoy playing with my foster dog brother.  I don't mind the cats in the house, I'm just not sure what they are because they run around me so fast! I'm great with kids, I might just give them a little lick to say hello! Hi!  My name is Johnson, but my foster family calls me Johnny!  They think I’m just the sweetest boy, at least that’s what they tell me.  I LOVE people and if you have a lap, I’m going to sit on it. They tell me that I think I’m a 15 lb lap dog, but I’m not – I’m a 65 lb lap dog.  I’m definitely a big cuddle bug and love laying on the blankets - especially with getting my first taste of a Chicago winter! I’m a Southern boy and not used to this cold! I am about 6-7 years old and probably a nice mix of breeds including Lab. I love my foster family, but I’m not crazy about their cats.  Smaller animals like cats and small dogs are confusing to me and I have a tendency to chase them.  Medium or larger fur-siblings are ideal. I would love to have a buddy to run around the yard with, but I would be completely fine being the only dog so I can have all the attention to myself.  I LOVE to have all eyes on me! I’m good with kids too, but my foster family feels older, sturdier kids would be preferred. I’m good around their little guy inside, but when I’m having fun playing outside I forget that I’m such a big boy and can get carried away. I’m fully housebroken and crate trained.  I sleep quietly all night long and do well while my foster family is at work during the day.  I get so excited when they get home because that means cuddle time is coming! I even know some basic commands like “sit” and “lay down” and I’m eager to learn more!  I love treats and I love to please my family in order to get them. My wish for 2020 is to find the perfect family.  I know you’re out there and I can’t wait to meet you! The adoption fee of $225 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Sherlock was rescued along with his brothers and sisters as a puppy and had a every puppy illness you could think of. We rescued him when he was 3 month and worked him back to being a health and happy puppy. When he was small and still learning he behaved well with our other much older and larger dog. Now that Sherlock is grown he does not interact well with our other dog. Sherlock will guard/protect his toys, and food from other dogs to a point where he needs to be the only dog in a home. He never guards from me or my wife and we have be able to ask for toys from him and he will happily give them to us and wait for them to come back. Sherlock is full of energy and loves to be outside, is is perfectly happy to lay on a porch or in the grass. Sherlock also is a big chewer, he will chew on a hard bone for hours and he never has chewed on any furniture. When not running around Sherlock is a very cuddly dog. His favorite place to take a nap is under a blanket between a person legs

Charlie is being adopted from a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him please call Sue at 815-258-5893 or email availablepets@gmail.com as the clinics will have no information. Charlie is a 5 ½ year Retriever mix who was found as a stray in Texas. He came all the way to Illinois to find his forever home. Charlie suffers from separation anxiety and will need an experienced owner. A very stylish crate has been donated and will come with Charlie to his future home. Also, dog training sessions will be paid for, to help Charlie and his new family learn to handle his separation anxiety. If there are other dogs in the household, they should meet Charlie to make sure that they will get along. Charlie has spent time in a foster home, where he did very well. Charlie even went on a shopping trip to a pet store! Charlie loves to play and go for walks!
