Story
Matilda wants to be adopted with her best friend Oso (also listed here). Back Story: Matilda used to be a loner. She can be dog selective yet chose Oso to be her bestie from their very first sniff! Oso had been an insecure dog. When he met Matilda, his confidence started to grow! Both dogs came from entirely different areas and both of them are very unique in personality and temperament. Matilda can be fearless and will attempt to conquer the world if you let her! Oso has never been a confident dog and chooses to avoid confrontation like the plague! Together, Matilda and Oso compliment each other. Matilda provides Oso with the backing he needs to help him feel more secure, and Oso helps to keep Matilda grounded and relaxed. Apart from each other, they're both lost. Together, Matilda and Oso literally complete one another! Specifics: ~Both dogs are lab mixes (Matilda-female spayed, Oso-male neutered) ~Matilda and Oso are around 4 years old, healthy with medium energy, 50-55 lbs and UTD on vaccinations ~Both are house and crate trained, non destructive with no resource guarding, quiet, have excellent recall and walk well on leash Favourite things: ~Matilda and Oso enjoy playtime with humans and each other, as well as walks, toys and treats ~Both dogs love food and enjoy a dreamy nap after a yummy meal ~Matilda likes car rides (Oso not so much) ~Oso likes other dogs (Matilda is picky as to who can enter her friendship circle) ~They both agree that squirrels are evil! Dreamhome Wishlist: ~ A home in a rural or suburban setting which isn't too noisy or busy. ~ A home with a fully fenced yard. ~ A family without young children (older calm teens would be okay). ~ A family who's work schedule would ensure that Matilda and Oso aren't left unattended for more than 7-8 hours per day. ~ A home without other pets. ~ A family willing to commit to ensuring Matilda and Oso would get at least 2 good walks per day and plenty of physical and mental stimulation. ~ Someone with previous dog experience, dedicated to continuing this couple's education and providing regular rules and boundaries using force-free methods. ~ Ideally, a family willing to continue feeding Matilda and Oso the Raw Diet they've come to know and love. (One week's worth of Raw Meals will be provided, as well as Diet Protocol and Tutorial).

Story
One of the most special things about dogs like Vingie is that when shown compassion, patience and clear direction, with time, they become the most loyal, trusting and loving dogs you can ever have. By ‘dogs like Vingie’ I mean dogs that have suffered from unimaginable cruelty and abuse inflicted by humans. And yet these dogs are still capable of learning to put it all behind them and start trusting and loving beyond measure. His foster dad describes him as a very sweet and affectionate boy, who loves spending time at home in his company although he is starting to feel safe and actually enjoy the outdoors. He says that “...He’s very calm in the house and walks well on the leash. No pulling. It’s taken him a bit of time but he does like the other dogs and is starting to play with them. He’s good on car rides.“ His Egyptian rescuer describes him as a prince. She said “...he is a prince in how he acts ..charlie (his brother) would go out and get back all dirty ..but Vingie would come back clean. He loves to stay next to you and just to be around you.” Vingie together with his other siblings was born in a factory grounds in Egypt where one of the factory workers was keeping an eye on the mom and the babies by feeding the mom and ensuring she consumes enough nutrients to feed the babies. One morning, however the mom and all but two puppies were found dead; the puppies that were alive were in a bad shape with scrapes and open wounds. The security cameras showed the security guards brutally killing the mom and the puppies, and using the other two like footballs. I am looking for a calm, gentle and patient family; one that would give enough time and patience as well as clear guidance and praise when appropriate to continue helping Vingie love life. He sure is a special dog and without a doubt the lucky family that will end up adopting him, many, many years from now will be saying that Vingie was the best dog they had ever had. Vingie is fostered by Furry Family Animal Rescue in Toronto He is neutered, UTD and approx. 50 lbs. He is 3 years old.

Story
Introducing a wonderful companion: Meet Frank, a large, friendly black male with a heart as big as his size. With a gentle demeanor, he`s a people-loving pup who radiates positivity and exuberance. His boundless energy and enthusiasm for life make him a perfect match for an active household. Frank is housebroken and clean in his kennel, showing his adaptability and eagerness to please. While he gets along well with friendly dogs, he may benefit from a bit more socialization. Leash manners and basic obedience are areas where he could use some guidance, but he`s a quick learner and motivated by tasty treats. Bring this delightful canine into your home, and experience the joy of a loyal and affectionate companion. Frank is looking for a home with no shared walls, an active family with older children to play with and a big backyard to run off his energy in! If you would like to meet Frank call the East Shelter 416-338-7539.
