Story
Please note, we are a Texas based rescue that transports our pups once they are adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes, so much is known about their temperament, training level and personality. We know adopting a dog sight unseen can be daunting, so we are happy to share additional videos, photos and even let you Facetime with the pup. We are primarily an equine rescue, but do assist with a small number of dogs annually. We are happy to provide references from previous adopters if needed. Thank you for wanting to adopt! Hello, World!! With my mega watt smile, and sweet and loving temperament, my ideal adopter will be ... anyone!! I love hoomans, other puppies and dogs. I was named for the gorgeous "Ginger" on the iconic series, Gilligan's Island. Just like the original Ginger, I am charming, charismatic and ridiculously good looking :) My hairytage is from Newfoundland and I am proudly a Labrador Retriever mix. Wikipedia says; "The Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular dog breeds worldwide because of its athletic nature and friendly temperament". Check and check!!! Going on our daily walks is one of my favorite things and I will grow into a great hiking companion for some lucky person/couple/family. I am perceptive and adventurous and am already learning to "sit" and "take my business" outside!! I am a 12 week old, little girl puppy, Cinnamon colored with white points, weighing in at a svelte 12 pounds. Most likely, based on the size of my mama, I will be around 45-55 pounds when fully growed.. I love getting scritchs and belly rubs and adore being adored. My most favorite thing is to snuggle up against my nice hooman for some hugs and kisses!! So, please don't leave me "stranded on a tropic isle" of foster puppies!! Fill out an application and adopt me today!!

We are primarily an equine rescue, but do assist with a small number of dogs annually. We are happy to provide references from previous adopters if needed. Thank you for wanting to adopt! Anyone that has ever watched the movie the Lion King knows the opening line of: "NAAAAANTS INGOOONYAMA BAGITHI BABA." Did you know this Zulu phrase translates to "There comes a Lion"? I was named after the King Lion (Simba's father) in this beloved Disney movie, but this line is definitely not about me. I am a dog, not a lion! According to Urban Dictionary, Mufasa is a nickname for an amazing individual. If you are given the nickname of Mufasa then you are majestic, amazing, and loving. True, true, and true!! In real life, I am not a Lion King at all, but a very accommodating and loving Family dog. My hairytage is from Newfoundland, not Africa, and I am proudly a Labrador Retriever. Wikipedia says, " the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular dog breeds worldwide because of its athletic nature and friendly temperament." My most outstanding feature is my smile...or maybe it is my eyes? When I am trying to win favor with a hooman, I just scrinch up my liquid chocolate colored eyes and give them a toothy grin!! Works every time! I am a loveable, goofy guy and I love kids and other dogs. I love to play fetch, know how to sit, come when called , walk on my leash, and am crate and house trained. Like most young Labrador Retrievers, I am energetic and would do best in a home with a large yard and someone to play with...either human or canine...preferably, both!!! I really enjoy companionship and have been great with the other foster dogs at Foster Mum's ranch. I was surrendered to the rescue when my family had a change in their work schedules and didn't feel they could give me the attention I deserve. If you are looking for a sweet-faced, lovable, friendly pup who is outgoing with more than enough affection to go around, please fill out an application and adopt me today!!

There is a children's song that contains the line "if you're happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it". That describes me perfectly. I am always smiling and trying to lick foster mom's chin. I am an 8 week old, small, outgoing, little boy border collie hybrid!! I currently weigh in at a hefty 8 pounds, so will likely be a medium dog size of 35 -45 pounds. I love humans. I greet everyone with enthusiasm and with lots of puppy kisses. My favorite thing to do is wag my tail as fast as I can. I try and wag it all the time, but sometimes I have to sleep. My favorite place to sleep is in foster mom's lap. It takes a lot of concentration on my part to be very still and quiet; I am just so happy all the time. I also like playing with toys, going for walks, and snuggling. I get along great with other dogs, kids, cats, and I even try to be friends with my foster family's horses!! Foster mom doesn't seem to like that idea so much as I am about the size of the horse's hoof!! I have a joyful zest for life. I would love to explore the world with you! I have a lot to learn and need someone to help me learn to be my best self!

Jake _Announcer_; Good Day, we are here at the First Annual Fido Awards to interview our superstar, Jake, regarding his much talked about saga "The Rest of My Life". Rumor has it that Jake is casting for his costar(s) in this production. Shhh...Our handsome leading dog is here!!! _Jake_: First of all, I would like to thank Hay Dude Critter Rescue for giving a guy a second chance. I would also like to thank my fabulous foster family for uncompromising love and support. Last, but not least, a shout out to all of you reading this bio today for considering a rescue dog. Thank you big time. Now, down to the business at hand. As you have been made aware, I am conducting a casting call for the co star(s) in my production "The Rest of My Life". _Casting criterion_; 1. Must LOVE dogs...I am not talking about a costar (s) that puts food out in the morning and gives doggie a pat on the head. I am talking about a fully engaged costar(s) that desires a strong bond with this leading dog, sharing LIFE and LOVE!! Selected costar (s) must commit to commitment! 2. Must know basic commands. I will want my costar(s) to prompt me on the following behaviors; sit, down, go in crate, shake hands fetch. Other amazing accomplishment that should be highly praised and lauded by my co star (s); I will sit before eating, going in & out doors or putting leash on. I look and act like a champ walking on leash. I also do a cute trick where I flip my toys over my head for amusement...my own and that of others around me :) I also like playing chase with both hoomans and other canines! I know you are getting the drift; I am extremely intelligent and love the challenge of learning new behaviors. As much as I love the game of chase, my most favorite thing is getting scritches....awwwww...I love to be loved on!! You would think with all of my macho good looks and muscular frame, I might be a tough guy....Awww, contrar!!! My temporary hooman says that I am super sweet and love people....I actually prefer hoomans to canines!! 3. Should have dog experience; let's face it folks, with all of my awesomeness going on, I am not a beginner dog!! The optimum costar(s) will have some understanding and knowledge of basic canine behavior. With a heritage of Labrador and Great Dane, I thrive on interaction with hoomans. 4. Be Adventurous; it would be best if costar(s) enjoys hikes, walks, and excursions together. 5. Protect leading dog from loud noises...like fireworks. My highly refined otic hearing sensory capabilities are completely affronted by loud exploding noises. 6. Keep leading dog supplied with his favorite treats..chomp, chomp, gulp...yummy!! (Subscript; I am good with other dogs, neutered and housebroken. At 3 years old and 80 pounds of poise and beauty, I have reached my full adult size and stature. Did I mention that I have movie star good looks; just look at my stunning white stockings...gorgeous, come on!! :)) If you have an interest in applying for this costarring role or would like further information, please send an inquiry or fill out an online application. Hope to see you in the our movies!!:)
