Story
Mona Lisa is fostered in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to move north for a good loving forever home. Mona Lisa and her sister were dumped in a small rural community. They wandered up to a house where some nice people lived and those people brought them to us. Mona Lisa is a black lab/boxer mix and she is now around 1 year of age. She weighs around 50 pounds and is mostly brindle with white. Mona Lisa was a little shy when we first got her, but was still very friendly, sweet, and playful. She is shy no more. Mona Lisa is more active than her sister and loves playing with toys and other dogs. Mona Lisa is crate trained, appears to be house trained, and otherwise fairly good in the house. She likes children. She will sit for treats and knows her name and comes when called (we call her Mona). Mona Lisa is still young and will need further training and socialization. We want Mona Lisa to be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and would like a secure fenced yard to run and play. Mona Lisa is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and on heartworm and flea prevention. Mona Lisa has a $450.00 adoption fee which includes ground transport via PETS LLC for pickup in Brattleboro or White River Junction VT. She will not be sent north until after she is adopted. Please contact 2 Many Dogs Rescue for an adoption application if you are interested in adopting this sweet girl. Melinda May and her sister were dumped in a small rural community. They wandered up to a house where some nice people lived and those people brought them to us. Melinda May looks like a black lab/boxer mix and we guess she is now around a year of age She weighs around 50 pounds and is mostly black with white on her chest a a bit of brindle under her neck. She has the wonderful short, soft boxer muzzle. Melinda May is very friendly, outgoing, sweet, and playful. She loves playing with toys and other dogs, and loves being in the house with the air conditioning. She is fairly low energy and likes to lay splayed on the floor with her back legs stretched out so her belly is on the cool floor. Melinda May knows her name (we call her Melinda) and will sit for treats. She is crate trained and pretty good with house training as long as you make sure she goes potty when she is outside before you let her back in. Melinda is well behaved in the house and we have had no issues on the few occasions we forgot to put her in a crate before we left on errands. Melinda May is still young and could use more training and socialization. We want Melinda May to be in the house as a loved member of the family. Story
Ferris is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down here, so he is willing to move north for a good loving forever home. Ferris was saved by our vet who refused to put him down because he was such a great dog. Ferris is a Labrador retriever/American Bulldog/boxer mix. He has been waiting for a furever home for over a year. Ferris is now just over 2 years old and weighs maybe 60 pounds. (He is overweight and needs to loose some). Ferris is mostly black, with white on his chest, toes and tail and a small amount of brindle on his legs. Ferris is unique in that he has a split nose, a characteristics that is found in 3 rare dog breeds. He may have a bit of one of these rare breeds in his DNA. Ferris is very well behaved in the house. He is crate trained and house trained, He know how to sit but could still use more obedience training. Ferris is outgoing, very sweet, and loves people. He is active and energetic. He loves toys and plays nicely with other dogs. Ferris must be allowed in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash. Ferris needs exercise and would like a secure fenced yard to run and play. Ferris is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, negative for heartworms, and on heartworm and flea preventative. Ferris has a $450.00 adoption fee which includes ground transport via PETS LLC for pickup in Brattleboro or White River Junction VT. He will not go north until after he is adopted. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Jenny Cope (giveadogahome@live.com) for more information about this pet. Animal Welfare organizations have been deemed as essential business, and so we are able to continue our operation.  However, we are taking the threat of COVID-19 very seriously and are following the government guidelines and implemting our own precautions.  Meet & Greets will continue to be on an appointment basis only. They will take place either in the outside enclosed area, or the large room at the end of he kennels. There is a no contact, other than with the dog in place and children will not be allowed out of their vehicles. MEERKAT was saved  from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine  MEERKAT is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 4 February 2014 and at the time of rescue in February 2020 weighed around 40 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.   MEERKAT arrived at the rescue on Tuesday, 25th February and has settled in well. He can be a little shy at first and although he enjoys running and playing with the other dogs, he does prefer smaller groups and he will run, chase and play quite happily. On a vet visit Meerkat became a different dog, he was so social, there was an elderly lady who he went and sat down right in front of just looking up at her, he was so happy and so well behaved. It is clear that he has had a family and possibly an elder lady with the way he acted, he loves going on walks, is great riding in the car, was great with the vet and his staff. He is an all round great boy a nice medium sized middle aged dog - perfect for a relativly active fun family.   All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed.   All dogs are fed   Rachael Ray Nutrish PEAK Natural Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Western Grasslands Recipe with Bison.  R achael Ray Nutrish Peak Dog Food receives the Dog Food Advisor’s second-highest tier rating of 4.5 stars.   WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW HE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK.   MEERKAT is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550.   This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada.   If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.   Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.   https://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org/forms/form?formid=5838     ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations  and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.Click here to watch a video of MEERKAT.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Meet Blossom & The Flower Pups! Blossom is a 4 year old female lab mix that weighs about 55lbs. She was pulled from a high kill shelter in Texas with her 9 newborn babies. Dad of pups is unknown. The pups are currently 5 1/2 weeks old now and will be coming to new England in late April. Mama Blossom will be looking for her forever home too after pups are weaned and she is  spayed. We are now accepting applications! If you are interested in any of our dogs, please complete our online adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/ 73247840093155 We will conduct a phone interview, check references and then a home check. This helps us to match a dog with their potential adopter. The adoption fee is $350.00 for adults and $450.00 for puppies under one year which includes spay/neutering, up-to-date age appropriate vaccinations, flea/tick & heartworm preventative and a health certificate. We foster our dogs in homes, not in shelters. This allows us to get to know the dogs temperaments in order to match them to a home. This also allows us to get the dogs ready to live in their forever homes! All dogs coming from the south have been quarantined for two weeks and fully vetted before traveling to New England!
