Story
Kenji is a great home and family dog, or trusty companion dog. He shares and loves the energy of his owner(s) - whatever you are doing, he is interested in being right there with you. Things he really LOVES are walks, taking rides in the car, sniffing everything outside, and food. He is a bit older now (9) so he has slowed down a little bit. He is very calm, friendly, and attentive and is also a good watchdog(barking). He is well trained and a good listener and learner. If he is doing something wrong - he will listen to your criticism! He lives to be your best friend. The only area where he struggles is with new dogs. He has lived and gotten used to other dogs, but random dogs on the street or in dog parks could be stressful. He has sometimes shown barking/leash pulling aggression, but mostly he is just wary of other dogs, not quick to trust. He seems to have the most problem when he is on a leash, but the other dog isn't. He has never been in a fight with or hurt an animal or person.

Jane needs a home with:-No other pets(would not do well at dog parks or with visiting pets)-No apartments-No children under the age of 12Jane is currently in a foster home, so she is not at the shelter for viewing. Please do not schedule an appointment through our bookings page, as we have to coordinate her foster parent to return her to the shelter for meets. Instead, please email an adoption application to sfairweather@kitsap-humane.org if you're interested in meeting Jane. Say hello to Jane! Jane is a 4 year old female Labrador with an elegant black coat. Jane is an energetic dog with a passion for the outdoors. She would make a great running or hiking partner and would appreciate smelling all the good stuff along the way! Jane enjoys treats and has already shown us her knack for learning new tricks! As of now she offers "sit" and "shake" as well as "lie down." Jane is spending time in a foster home and seems to be house trained and crate trained! Jane is looking for a house (no apartments please) with children over the age of 12 and no other pets. She is uncomfortable around dogs, so she would not do well going to dog parks or spending time with visiting dogs. She can be a little nervous with handling at first, but once she gets to know you she is very affectionate! Jane is a fun, goofy, and loving gal looking for an active household to keep her mentally and physically active. If you're looking for an adventure dog to take on all of your favorite hikes, Jane could be the one for you! Email to request an application for Jane today! Story
Andre is a great and loving dog. He does bark in the car at motorcycles and barks when you leave him in the car. I adopted him three years ago. My husband passed away and I am trying things to do and don't have time for Andre - he needs lots of loving and is good with kids of all ages. He does not fetch or swim, I think it is because he spent 3 years in a kennel or adoption center. He came from Texas. I know he can be trained to fetch and swim. I take him to the Marina Dog park in Edmonds, WA Everday and he loves getting the energy out of him. Loves little puppy's that crawl all over him and play with his ears. I really love Andre, however with my traveling I will not be able to take care of him as I want to. I would have to board him, which I really don't like. Thank-you for your consideration.

Story
Tucker is a 7 year old germna Shepard/lab mix. He is very smart and high energy. Tucker loved to play fetch and to cuddle, but can be stressed out easily. He gets a long with some dogs, but can be aggressive towards new puppies. Tucker knows how to sit, stay, shake both paws, speak, say "I love you," among other tricks. Tucker does not like fireworks or loud noises as they stress him out. We are rehoming as we are extremely busy with a new child and a different work schedule. Tucker would be best suited for someone that can walk/run daily and that lives In a quiet area.
