Story
Rudy is a sweet senior Lhasa Apso mix, born February, 2007. It takes a day or two for him to warm up to new people, but once he does, he follows like a little shadow. Rudy is good with most other dogs as long as they respect his personal space, and he would enjoy a gentle playmate his size. Any children in his new home should be old enough to understand that Rudy can be unpredictable, probably due to his poor eyesight and hearing. He goes up and down stairs well, and he can jump up on sofas and beds, especially if he has a food incentive. Although he doesn't like to be picked up, he loves it when a person will chill with him on the floor. Rudy enjoys a slow walk around the neighborhood. Having a person that is home with him for most of the day is Rudy's idea of a perfect home. He would enjoy having a fenced yard to explore.
Rudy qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors discount if his adopter is at least age 65.
The suggested adoption donation for Rudy is $200 We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.
Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.
Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
