Story
Hi there potential new family! I’m Luther Cartwright and it’s great to meet you. I’m looking for a new family to call my own! Could it be you? Here’s my stats: Possible Breed: Lhasa Apso Gender: I’m a boy Colors: Cream Age: The vet says about 4 years old Weight: Around 24 pounds Special Needs: Well, I’m gonna get it right out there. I wasn’t treated well in my 4 years so I am known as a ‘fear biter’. In the past, when they tried to hurt me, I learned to bite them so they would stop. Now, even though I am not being hurt, when I get scared, sometimes I bite. I am getting better and better but still, it’s there so I can’t live with little kids. I wouldn’t want to hurt them. I also need a little medicine when I get groomed because that really scares me. Ideal Home: I get along with other dogs so I can live in a home with both boy and girl dogs. Or, I can live in a home as an only dog. Just can’t live with kids. Now for the good stuff!- I’m not what you call a rowdy boy. I’m pretty laid back, that is until it’s time for FOOD! I like food and I know when it’s time to eat. Matter of fact, if you’re late with food, I’ll bark and remind you what time it is! I get along with boy and girl dogs though I’m not much for playing yet. I am still learning to trust at my foster home so I am spending more and more time with the family and less time off by myself. Still working on that too. I have started going after a tennis ball though I’m not really sure what to do with it when I get it. I really like to go for a walk and if you hold up my leash, I know it’s time to go outside! I don’t bark at the neighbor dogs when we pass by. I ride really well in the car and I go into my crate when you tell me too. I’m not on any medication. My foster mom says, “Luther has a great trick and we call him the ‘Leaping Lion’. That’s because of his color and his ability to leap high in the air! He does it especially when food is involved and it’s really amazing how high he can jump when he gets excited.” If you want to know more about me, email my foster at cindymc12903@yahoo.com. Start the process of adopting me or one of the other pups by filling out the application found at www.shihtzu-rescue.com. PS. I've had ALL my vetting, and oh boy, it was a lot. Here's what I had done: Distemper/Parvo shots – TWICE. One shot doesn't cut it. Bordetella shots - ALSO TWICE. Spay/Neuter-of course. A fecal exam so I don't have any bad worms. Treatment if I do. A heartworm test. Treatment if I am positive for heart worms BLOODWORK to make sure my liver and kidneys are working well, because you know, we doggies often have issues in the liver and kidneys. A DENTAL exam AND cleaning if I needed it- yep, all my toofies are checked out. See, that's a LOT. Ask your vet - that's a LOT.

Story
Hi there, I’m glad to see you checking out my page! I’m Crane Davis and it’s great to meet you. I’m looking for a new family to call my own! Could it be you? Here’s my stats: Possible Breed: Lhasa Apso Gender: I’m a guy Colors: White and Tan Age: The vet says about 6 years old Weight: Around 19 Special Needs: I am having trouble with my kidney function. I am on special food and I receive subcutaneous fluids to help with my kidney disease. Ideal Home: I need a home who is able to continue my fluids and food for my kidney disease. Now for the fun stuff: I am an active dog but not a rowdy dog! I’m just full of life. I’m a happy, happy boy and I like naps too! I get along well with both boy and girl dogs. I do like to go for a walk and meet new people, especially if they pet me! I like to ride in the car and get super relaxed. Since I’m a Lhasa Apso, I do like to be the top dog in the house so you need to make sure I don’t try to take over from you! One of my favorite things to do is walk around and smell all the smells. Story
EST DOB 03/01/14 Current weight Between 20-50 lbs This super sweet baby is a bit shy but SUCH A <3 sponge!!! Finsca is a male/neutered Lhasa Apso mix that was born on 03/01/14. He was rescued from a hoarding situation so he is a little timid when he is first getting to know someone new, but loves receiving attention. If you are consistent with him you will watch his confidence grow right before your eyes!! We would recommend that he get adopted to a home that doesn’t have children- this may change over time, as and he starts to come out of his shell a bit more, but we will need more time with him to know for sure. He has been affectionate with another small dog in his group and is SURE to steal your <3! Please email MuttsAndMeows@Mail.com TODAY to fill out an application!! $150 adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, rabies and other vaccinations, heartworm test, deworming, and heartworm and flea preventatives while the dog is in our care.Like us on Facebook - search Mutts & Meows - and help even more pets find loving homes.

Story
Petfinder update suggestion for Sapphire. My name is Sapphire, but Demon Dawn might work too. I'm cute. Adorable. Healthy, spayed, shots, HW negative. I do have an unexplained occasional cough. I'm also a criminal mastermind and don't really like very many people very much. I wasn't taken care of by my first family and, let's be frank, I'm damaged goods. If, however, you choose to accept this assignment, you'll embark on a quest to bring me back from the dark side. I'll need a home with other dogs. I'd hate you to go six months without having soft, luxurious fur to pet and someone on your lap. You might get to pet me, but then again maybe not. You'll also need a yard because I'm very active and will allow you to watch me run and play. Sometime this summer, I might decide to play with you. I'll make that decision on a case by case basis. And gloves. You'll need them. Eventually I'll choose one person to love (unless you want me to do something I don't particularly think is in my best interest.). I'll bite you, your friends, the nice lady from next door because I decide who touches me. Usually in a fraction on a second. There's never been blood or stitches. I'm just communicating. Perhaps you can teach me another way? I'm never going to be the floof lap dog I look like. I'm sorry, but it's a long shot. I'll be grateful for a home with quiet, dog savvy people, consistency and patience. Am I worth the time, frustration, sweat and tears? I'll leave that to a human with a particular set of skills to decide. Gotta go! I need to kill the white truck that just turned into the driveway. Sapphire came to us a matted, filthy, mess from the Pasadena TX shelter. She is about 2-3 years old and had never been groomed or probably bathed in her life. She is Leary of new people but comes around quickly once she knows you won't hurt her. She is about 17-18 pounds and good with other dogs. She is not recommended for children. Adoption Fee: $200 + sales tax. Which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations & microchip.
