Story
Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. FidoPapillon/Maltese4 yrsM, neuteredWgt/Hgt: 11 lbs / TBAActivity level: moderateRelations: good with dogs / older kids okay / unknown catsHighlights: Needs time to learn trust with humansRegion: Middle East Region: Middle East I was saved from a drug user who stole me and was trying to sell me for drug money. Being in a very bad health condition, I was taken to the vet. After a very long and expensive doctor bill, I started to gain my health back. My rescuer put my photos on a site to find my owners. After a few months, someone called to say I was theirs. My rescuers were happy my family was found and so I went home... or so everyone thought. After a bit of time, the family said it was not their dog (guess us bitty ones look a lot alike.) So, another family adopted me. Again, my rescuers were happy. Until they found out the family had a developmentally disabled boy who would beat me. So, they got me back. It was a bit hard at first after that to be trusting of people. After a long process and lots of love, I am back to loveable & playful me. I tend to get scared right now though if you touch my back (near tail.) I will snap at you. This is only because I am uncertain. I will begin trusting you, if I see your behavior with other dogs. Once I know you won't hurt me, I warm up, then things are much better. I have plenty of energy and can play long periods without tiring. I like to play with my rescuers big dog. I get along with other dogs just fine. I am very smart and house trained. I can be a bit head strong, probably because of the people that used to beat me, so it may take a little time for me to trust you. Everybody seems to love me though. My charm and personality must shine through. I love to go out to my box at night to sleep. My rescuers have taught me things like come, sit and go out side to do potty. Of course, all these commands I only know in Persian. So you may have to teach some English to him. I will likely pick it up quick, as my rescuer has said "I can easily say he is one of the smartest dogs I ever had." I am sure you will fall in love with me as soon as you see me. As you can see, I am fine with kids too. See my happy little friend holding me. I just need to have confidence in you, then I am okay. But due to my current fear older kids are probably best, as it is difficult to explain to young children how to always be careful. Never been around cats, but I am good with other dogs. Looks like I have a bit of an underbite. It isn't a problem though. I could use a somewhat experienced owner, as I just need time to learn to trust and feel safe.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.    Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website. *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.  ##542661##
