Story
My name is Tilly, I’m a Morkie which means I’m half Maltese, half Yorkie. I have special needs that will be required of my forever home so that I stay on the path of being a good, cute little girl, who wants to please. Foster mom has been so patient and knows the right home is out there! I’ll require a home with no other dogs and no small children. There’s no way around this because of my past. I don’t necessarily require a fenced yard, although a fenced yard would be awesome as I love running and playing and require regular exercise to help me with my energy. Unfortunately, dog parks aren't an option because I never learned my manners and I don’t always get along with other dogs. I love to play with dogs I approve of, I'm a rough and tumble kind of girl, but other dogs I just want to bite! I love snuggling and getting love and attention, but there are rules that need to be in place for me to get your attention. You see, I had to take care of myself for a long time, and I wasn’t treated very nice, which led to my taking control resulting in combative tendencies. I was found on the streets after having two homes in the first two years of my life. I require someone experienced with challenging dominate personalities or someone who's willing to learn how to manage my behavioral needs so I don’t need to feel I'm still in charge. My foster mom has been reinforcing the rules so I've been doing so much better. I’ve learned how to sit, lay and come and I take treats very gently. While my meals are being prepared, I always lie down or sit patiently and quietly waiting until my bowl is offered. You see, I really want to be a good girl and show you how happy I am when you get home from work with tail wags and kisses! I'm learning how to play, it's something new to me and I hope to learn more about how fun toys can be! I have the silkiest fine hair that needs regular grooming, it snarls easy and then they pull my skin and it hurts but I am learning to trust people when they touch my feet or clean my eyes. I’m mostly potty-trained. This means I can go several hours in a kennel or in my play yard when foster mom goes to work without soiling, and I use pee pads well too when she leaves them out. I do mark every once in awhile when I am in the house just to show that I own the space. I am working hard at correcting that and it is a work in progress for sure! I’ll need socialization in a safe environment because I’m very protective of my humans and don’t want anyone coming near them; I guard them like crazy! It’s not that I’m bad or mean, it’s just my need to be in charge that drives me and is an important reason I find a home that understands me and will always work with me to keep me on track. I know it sounds like I have a lot of baggage and require a lot of work and care, but for the right person who understands, it won’t be work at all and my future will be awesome! I am totally worth it! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay/neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 6-12 months at the time of adoption. If that is the case, the spay/neuter will be covered in the adoption fee and the owner will be responsible to have the procedure completed at a Warrior Dog Rescue Veterinarian at the appropriate time. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!   Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <underdogrescue@petml.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Due to concern around COVID-19, Underdog Rescue is suspending all public adoption events and community events. We are still accepting applications for available dogs but are delaying in-person meet and greets due to the ‘stay at home’ policy. Thank you for your support.  DOB: 06/11/2012 Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Yes Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Requires a fenced yard:  Yes Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Introverted home body seeking introverted home body. The outside world can be scary. I prefer the comfort of home where I can sit in peace and quiet. I like cuddle sessions on the sofa and enjoy snacking on chicken. A human partner who enjoys couches and chicken is preferred. Dog parks and hikes are too chaotic for me. I like to take things slow. I am a foodie. I like dogs. Cats are okay too. No kids, they stress me out. I like being in my house. Do you have a home? If you do, I would like to be your life partner.     Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Story
Lily was our first baby, 12 years ago. She has been a good dog. But 4 kids later, life has gotten very busy and loud for our dog. She does not get the attention she needs and then acts out by accidents in the house. She is a sweet dog, who just needs more time and attention then we can give. She is a good health for her age. She has a sliding knee cap, which cause jumping up in beds and coaches more difficult. We can get records from veterinary visits. If you read about the Morkey breed, she fits it to a tee.
