Story
This girl is Mitzy. She’s a tiny 6.5 year old Maltese (possible mix) who weighs 5.7 lbs. She was surrendered to a local shelter because her family could no longer care for her. Mitzy has some hair loss that’s from fleas and yeast. She has been to our vet and receiving treatment. She’s sweet with people and other animals. She’s a little timid. We have no idea how she is with children. The shelter is over capacity and with her being an owner surrender with health issues that puts her more at risk than others when hard decisions have to be made by the shelter staff. We need a plan NOW and need to get her out TODAY!! Please fill out the app below if you can help. She will be utd, vet checked, hw tested and spayed before placement. All dogs have a $150 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $100 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact Parkway Animal Hospital as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue.
