You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept cash only. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   This little girl was pulled from BARC animal shelter as an 'owner surrender'  She was matted down to the skin.  Poor precious girl.  She was groomed by the skilled groomer at Willow Creek Ranch and is now learning how to trust humans.  She was clearly neglected and abused prior to coming into rescue as she is barrier aggressive.   She's perfect on a leash, in your arms or free roaming in the home, but when she is crated, she is fearful and bitey!! so... DO NOT PLAN TO CRATE THIS GIRL!  SHE WILL NOT GO TO A HOME THAT PLANS TO CRATE. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   Mature cataract R. eye****************UPDATE 2/10/20 ****************  Pippi's foster mom reports that although she is listed as 8 y/o, she can be quite active for a senior. She is very sweet and gets along well with the foster mom's dogs. She loves to go for walks. She recently had surgery to be spayed, had two mammary tumors removed and her dental cleaning done which required two extractions. She is healed nicely and eats kibble with no problems. She is house trained, kennel trained and rides in the car well. She has been seen by the eye doctor who indicated that there is nothing that can be done for the mature cataract in her right eye. Even with the cataracts, she has no trouble getting around in fact she chases squirrels in the back yard. She would make a wonderful dog for a senior ************************* This beautiful girl was pulled from the Harris County Animal Shelter in Houston, TX. She has been neglected her whole life.  So severe, she suffers from a chronic raging skin infection in her lumbar, and hind end due to flea dermatitis.  She is on strong antibiotics and medicated baths daily. Meet Krew! He was originally found on the side of the highway, limping and matted. We thought he had a broken leg but after closer inspection his whole foot was gone! We don't know if this is an old injury or a deformity. Either way he will be seeing our veterinarian and specialist to see if he's a candidate for a prosthetic. He gets around okay now but a prosthetic may give him more mobility aka speed! Krew is still knew to our rescue so we'll continue to add more information and "after" photos once he's had a good groom. So far we know he's super happy, playful and keeping up with the German Shepherds in the home despite being 5-6lbs. If interested in adoption, the first step is to visit our website chipnsnip.org to complete our adoption application! All current pets in the home must be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm preventatives and altered unless medically unfit. Our approval process includes an approved application, reference check, home visit and once approved, a meet and greet with the dog. Meet Coco! He is 15 years old and a tiny little mouse at 5 lbs! He was loved dearly in his previous home but unfortunately they had to seek a better life for little Coco.
