You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Thank you for visiting Home At Last Sanctuary, Inc.  We are dedicated to keeping animals out of places that kill and once in these places doing what ever we can to get them out Please make sure you read the description for each animal.  We place animals in homes we feel is appropriate for that animal.  Their description will describe the animal and what we are looking for them.-> IF YOU APPLY TO ADOPT BO YOU ARE APPLYING TO ADOPT SAM ALSO AS A BONDED PAIR.  We will only consider applications if you live within a one hour drive from Rockville MD LOOK HERE BEFORE YOU EMAIL CALL OR ASK ANYTHING: https://hals.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=15102292 Bo and Sam and Sam and Bo two lifelong buddies in need of a lifetime home. These 9 year old neutered Maltese weighing about 14 pounds each were surrendered to Montgomery County Animals Services and Adoption Center for unknown reasons.  Their rapid adoption after they were surrendered resulted in a rapid return for a clear reason: their dental health had been neglected and their breath reflected this sad fact.  Home At Last Sanctuary HALS rescued the paired pair and using their resources and many generous donations from HALS supporters $2,000 of dental work was performed.  Result: two beautiful Maltese with healthy mouths, microchips and shots and ready for adoption. Bo is shorter and rounder like a “midget tootsie roll”.  Sam is longer and leaner.  Bo is more outgoing and enjoys one-on-one time with chews or toys.  Sam is a world-class sleeper.  Both are chow hounds and never say no to a treat. Both are cuddly and affectionate with these behaviors blossoming daily in their foster home.  Their foster home is share by two other homeless foster dogs and all get along well. Pad training was favored by past owners but the boys have had consistent reinforcement of outdoor pottying by their foster family.  Result: after rare accidents Bo and Sam go outside after signaling their need.  On a note of convenience pad use in the future if and when and when need will always be an option. Bo and Sam are easily accommodate around the house and will lie on laps, couches, dog-beds, people beds, bath mats, Persian Carpets, in short anyplace a vacancy is indicated and they are invited.  The boys like to walk but not too far or too fast, and they like to ride in the car.  They visited the Sugarloaf Art festival at the Montgomery County Fair Grounds.  They had a great time and met lots of people.  They are go anywhere dogs that enjoy being with their people. The $300 fee is per dog $600 for both. This is a link to Sam's webpage. Story
Ben #5502 is a 14-year-old Maltese Mix. He is a very chill and laid back. His foster reports he is great with the small dogs and cats in her home. He is working on crate and house training. He knows the command sleep. He does bark when he wants your attention or if he wants something. He has low energy most of the time but occasionally gets random bursts of energy. He prefers for his back legs not to be touched. He is on joint supplements and that should be continued. He weighs 8 pounds and is full grown. We believe you can always teach an ‘old’ dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. This pup, like all pups should be on heartworm preventative, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! If you are interested in adopting, please submit an online adoption form, available on our website: http://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoptus.html Email dogs@lastchanceanimalrescue.org with questions.
