Story
Beau, fka Gumby at the city shelter, is a special 5 year old 68lb boy. This gentle giant is incredibly loyal, loving, and devoted. He was surrendered to the city shelter by his family. Since his rescue from there, Beau is working on becoming the best good boy he can be. He LOVES other dogs, mainly ones his size- give or take. He leans on them for guidance and confidence. When he is home alone, he stays close to the other dog for comfort. He would be best with a confident, even tempered dog. Beau LOVES his person and enjoys being by their side. He is a dream in the car, LOVES the beach, and enjoys hiking. As an avid ball enthusiast, Beau also loves a good game of fetch. Once he has his ball, he is the happiest pup on Earth. Ideally, Beau should be in an adult only home, or one with dog savvy younger humans. He is housebroken, neutered, vaccinated, chipped, and ready for his forever home. Please be patient with this boy, he is quite sensitive at first. Once he trusts you, he will trust you forever. Right now, he is really coming out of his shell. Finally, he enjoys meeting new people and soliciting attention from new people. Winning his stamp of approval means you hit the lotto! So, be prepared for a ton of love from him. Beau will keep you on your toes and laughing all day! If interested in adopting or fostering, email us at twentypawsrescue@gmail.com or info@twentypawsrescue.com. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This handsome hunk Brady is looking for a home! This gorgeous Mastiff mix is 2 years old and weighs 120 lbs! Brady is very friendly with all people, but a home without small children would be best due to his size. Brady's ideal home is a farm or several acres, fenced, where he can run all day. He does not like to be confined. He can go to a home with or without other dogs. If he has canine siblings, he will require slow introductions and they should be large-breed and high energy, matching Brady's energy level. No small dogs or cats for Brady. This handsome guy truly has a big heart and goofy personality. Brady loves car rides and playing with his toys! He knows basic commends (sit, down, stay, come, as well as paw). Brady is neutered and up to date on vaccines. Please visit https://rescuedogsrocknyc.org to adopt Brady! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
This handsome boy originally arrived at NCCR on 3/28/19 after being found stray and going unclaimed. He was subsequently adopted, but did not get along at all with the resident cat and was returned on May 1st. Arthur is a neutered mixed breed, around a year old now. His breed mix is guess to include German Shepherd, Mastiff and probably several other breeds as well. Arthur gets along with most other dogs, but does NOT get along with CATS! He is quiet in his kennel and is not much of a barker. Arthur is house trained, but may need to brush up on his skills in a new home. He is a rough player and doesn't know his own strength and has a tendency to turn everything into a game (whether you want to play or not!). Arthur has made wonderful progress in learning the "leave it" command and will work for treats. He also likes to play fetch and knows "sit". A home without small children is required. As with all young dogs, he will benefit from ongoing training, lots of exercise and plenty of patience and love to help him be the best adult dog he can be. A family that has experience with large dogs and the willingness to continue Arthur's training and behavioral management is recommended. To see videos of Arthur, look under the "Dog Videos" tab on our website. Arthur is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $190.00. (cash or check only, we are unable to accept credit cards) Arthur is kindly sponsored by Steve and Barb Kosierb in memory of Briar Phelka, Lynn Gresham, Melford Swanson, Kathy Keller and David Grayson. Thank you everyone! If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application which you'll find under each dog's photo. You will need to go to our webpage at http://www.caninerescue.org/available-pets/ (just copy and paste that link in your browser). The application to adopt is in the very lower left hand corner of each pet's webpage. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them. NYS Registration #RR028.

Story
Name: Roxy Age: 10 years Breed: Mastiff Sex: Female (confirmed spayed) Location: Palmdale, CA Vet Info: Roxy is confirmed spayed. She was due for all vaccines in August, 2019, and has not had a heartworm test. She weighs about 120 pounds. Roxy has cataracts, and her owners think she is completely blind. Owner Info: Roxy is a gorgeous girl in need of a new home. Her owners tell us Roxy was originally their son's dog, but he moved into a small apartment and wasn't able to take her. They have had Roxy for the past 6 years, but they will be moving out of state and into a motorhome, and they cannot take her. Their move is still about a year away, but they want to be sure Roxy is taken care of before their move. Roxy is an outdoor dog with a fenced yard. She is housebroken and leash trained. She is described as outgoing and friendly, and is good with men and women, but needs a home without small children. Roxy is good with male dogs, but she has fought in the past with her owners' female dog. Her owner writes that they fought when one went into heat. Roxy can be possessive of toys, treats, or food, and once, she and her owners' other dog cornered and killed a stray cat in their yard. Roxy's owners feel she adapts well to new situations and write, "Yes, she is careful when walking around. We have had yard work done and she seems to get around within a few minutes after investigating the changes." Other than her vision, her owners tell us she is in good health. Her owners are very much hoping she can find a loving new home! "I just want Roxy to be able to live out her life with a big yard at a good home. I feel terrible we won’t be able to continue to provide for her, and that is why I am looking for a good placement early to ensure she is taken care of." email os@blinddogrescue.com
