Zeus is 14 years old, 16 lbs (yes, that is quite large for a MinPin) and came to us from his female ho could no longer care for him. Yes he has cataracts and his vision is very limited, and he is diminished hearing as well. Zeus has been the only dog with his mom all these years - no children please. He is house and crate trained, walks well on a leash, loves his clothes, stayed in a fence and if no fence will wander off. Zeus needs a calm home he can live his remaining few years in. 2-25-20: Zeus is now neutered which is a really good thing since the Vet found testicular cancer in one testicle. Being neutered will now help ensure he lives an even longer life. And, like many older dogs, Zeus has arthritis but is doing well on an arthritis medication - Galliprant. Please check with your Vet as to the cost of Galliprant so you will know that you can keep him comfortable. ADOPTION FEES Dogs & Puppies.....$100.00. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. Yes, there are sometimes exceptions to our normal fee for older dogs or special cases or adoptions of two dogs together. Some of our pets have also been lovingly sponsored by caring people and we will let the approved adopter know about that at the point of adoption. Gretel is an adorable Miniature Pinscher/ Jack Russel Terrier mix girl that is about 9 months old. She weighs 20 lbs currently and shouldn't get much larger. She is a quite girl and shy but with patience she will warm up well! She is working on learning crate training and housebreaking but is already very good with kids, cats and dogs. She goes to the vet Monday for spay and to fully update her vaccines and everything else. Her adoption fee is $300.

Harvey is a handsome boy pulled from a local kill shelter due to overcrowding. He's a little timid but so sweet. He's around 2 years old and 16lbs. Harvey is a tan Manchester terrier. Heartworm negative. He is potty trained although he is in a foster home with a doggie door. He is very smart and learns commands quickly. He loves being outside and chases squirrels anytime he has the opportunity. His long legs make him run very fast and we think that combined with his intelligence would make him great in agility courses. He is a talker when he is excited but is quiet most of the time. Harvey loves to cuddle and anytime he gets the chance to burrow under a blanket, he goes right under. He doesn’t do well in crates but really there is no need because he is very well behaved. He is the absolute sweetest dog and would do well as the only dog but would cherish a brother or sister to play with as he lives with 4 foster dogs at the moment. His foster home does not have children but with children who are well behaved with pets, there should not be an issue. Harvey is a parvo survivor and one tough cookie. He’s a great little dog and will Make the perfect companion. Harvey is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered. All dogs have a $150 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Wags and whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact Parkway Animal Hospital as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue.
