Please read the dog's bio below, and if you would like to complete an application to be approved once shelter in place has lifted, you may apply at the following link. http://tinyurl.com/mpmrapp Dori 1.5 yr. female Min Pin/Dachshund mix 8.4 lbs. and fully vetted Fostered in Athens, GA Meet a dog with puppylike behaviors! She will need an understanding owner who is willing to continue working with her on appropriate dog manners. Dori is a loving girl with people and does fine with older children who have dog experience and know to keep their possessions off the floor. Yes, she is a chewer of nearly anything even when lots of toys are present. Unfortunately, she also tends to eat what she is chewing on, so she needs to be monitored closely to avoid getting a blockage. While initially nervous around someone new, she warms up within a day and becomes that person's shadow. She is both house and crate trained and even likes playing with her toys inside of an open crate. However, she prefers sleeping cuddled up to her person at night. Of note is that while she does not seem to be able to jump onto furniture, she can and will jump off of it. She has finally, after a month, figured out the steps by the bed so will use them to climb onto it too. Dori requires a secure fenced yard to burn off her puppy energy and plenty of durable squeaky toys to play with indoors. Outside, she does dig quite a bit, and she could climb a chain link fence which means a privacy fence is preferred. More importantly, she demands lap time! she will gladly snuggle up if someone needs some downtime and will not pressure anyone into playing with her. Her resource guarding with other dogs has improved where toys are concerned, so with slow, proper introductions to a new pup friend and plenty of time for her to realize that a new dog won't steal her toys, she will be fine in a home with another small dog. She does have some food aggression issues however so must be fed separately. If interested in making her a part of your family, please apply at http://tinyurl.com/mpmrapp.

Fully vetted. 15 lbs. Sampson is your typical min Pin and will do anything for food (including steal). He knows a few basic commands and is good on a leash. He has learned to use the doggie door and now rarely has an accident in the house. The doctor believes he is 10+ but there is no way of knowing for sure since he was picked up as a stray. He is fine with the two female dogs he is living with, but has not been cat tested. Sampson, in typical Pin fashion, will need time to warm up to new people. He will need a home without children. Even though he doesn't like strangers or children he has never shown any aggression towards either. He loves spending time outside so a fenced in yard is a must. As his foster mom I can definitely say he is one of the easiest foster babies I have ever had. All he wants in life is a few soft beds (he likes to have options), a blanket to cover up with, a little attention and all the food you will let him have. If you would like to give this sweet boy a forever home, please complete an adoption application at http://tinyurl.com/mpmrapp.

Story
Topper was rescued from a South Atlanta animal shelter.  She was quite shy the first few days, so we gave her some space and she began to seek us out after about 4 days.  After a few weeks, she follows us and seeks affection.  She is very sweet and silly.  Topper weighs 16 lbs. and looks like a mini German Shepherd.  She will come inside when called for her food and bed time, but she really enjoys playing in the yard with her canine friends.  She loves her dry kibble and is not a picky eater.  She needs to learn to take treats gently though, watch those fingers!  When her foster mom is loving on other dogs, she'll yip and tug your pants leg!  She wants ALL your love, and we are working to correct that behavior.  We only crate Topper when she's eating.  However, we do baby gate her when nobody is home.  Come meet this adorable girl and she'll steal your heart.  When you pick her up, she'll lay her head on your shoulder and melt your heart instantly. Story
Rylee is a Min Pin/Chiweenie mix who was given up by her owner because she did not have time for her.  She was delivered in a Rubbermaid tote.  Rylee is 4 years old but is still very much a puppy.  She loves to chew shoes so they must be put in a closed closet.  She is very playful and loves to wrestle with Scout and Topper (also available for adoption at www.alcovypet.com ).  She is quiet in her crate and keeps it clean.  She's affectionate after about an hour with you.  She'll sometimes growl at strangers, but if you sit down with her and talk to her sweetly, she will quickly warm up.  Rylee weighs about 13 lbs.  Her scruffy whiskers are so cute! Story
The name Laddie Boy conjures visions of a happy, young dog having fun playing on a green lawn in a fenced yard. But this Laddie Boy's life hasn't been quite so ideal.    How did a cute little guy like this end up in a shelter? With a name like Laddie Boy, this guy should be a pampered little prince. And to some degree, Laddie Boy thinks so too!   Laddie Boy was on his own for a while. So it takes him some time to trust people. However, once he does, he is a loving, little snuggle bug with endless love to share. But the downside of having Laddie Boy trust you is he wants to protect you from all the other people in your world. After all, you are now his favorite treasure.    Since it's your job to protect Laddie Boy, you have to "step-up" and be an adopter who lets him know he is safe and loved but also be firm when he wants to guard you.  This little guy is worth a little bit of work, and his foster mom is going to make sure your home is the right one for Laddie Boy.     Laddie Boy is a little over one-year-old and weighs 12-pounds.  He already house and crate trained, and he is excellent when he is walking on-leash! He loves other dogs and will benefit from a doggie companion who can show him people are trustworthy.     Think of the phrase "slow and steady wins the race."  Are you willing to give Laddie Boy time to adjust to his new environment?  Do you have the patience and firmness to give this adorable little guy the forever home he deserves?     For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue. *Some of our animals receive a high volume of applications, and we strive to select the best home for each animal.
