Story
Sandy / F / approx. 9 yrs old / 39 lbs / Min Pin Cattle Dog Breed / Toronto Meet Sandi! Sandi’s foster mum describes her as sweet, calm, curious, low key, quiet, food motivated as well as dog and cat social. Her favorite things in life are walkies and sleep! Sandi very much looks forward to her walks and is dreaming of a family that enjoys being outside as much as she does. After her walks, she may do some quick zoomies around the house before settling in her for nap. Sandi loves her trusted people, and once she feels comfortable, will be your shadow. Overall, Sandi meets new people nicely but does like to go at her own pace and so proper introductions are important. When given the time and space she needs, she warms up quickly. When meeting a familiar face, her tail wags at full speed! Sandi has not had much exposure to kids and is used to living with adults so a home with dog savvy children 14+ is preferred. So long as she receives the exercise she needs, Sandi would adapt to a house or condo living. Although she tends to be low key indoors, Sandi lives for her walks and would appreciate a family that likes to go outside as much as she does. Her foster mom works from home and so Sandi gets outside every 3-4 hours and walks very nicely on leash! Sandi has not been left alone for longer than an hour. Initially she would whimper when alone but now she settles easily with her canine foster siblings. She is potty trained and very respectful of the home; she can be trusted with free reign of a safe space. Although Sandi would prefer a family that’s home often, her foster mum thinks she will adjust to a home that works as long as she receives a mid-day potty break. Sandi is a smart girl and eager to please. She has learned sit, touch, lay down, stay and roll over (but only if there are belly rubs involved!).
