Age is just a number to Snowball! He loves to venture around the yard. Being held and snuggling are his favorite! We'd love to find Snowball a home to live out his golden years in. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Each dog in our rescue is in a loving foster home, where they can grow, play, and recover from their time spent on the streets or in a shelter. If you'd like to meet an adoptable dog, please fill out an application on our website, www.edcr.org. Because we are a foster home based rescue a completed adoption application is required to meet our adoptable dogs.

Story
Evie told me yesterday she dreams of being the only dog in the family, so she can get all the attention. I said that was odd since she shies away from being held and is not a cuddler. But maybe with time and patience, she could be. When she first came to my house she would not allow me to pet her, hold her or touch her. Now, when she wants to be held (rarely) she'll bark at me. She's a real sweet little girl who just needs a ton of patience as she learns to trust people. I have 3 dogs, and she gets along fine with them, but I do think she would be happier in a smaller family. I listed her as poodle/ Bichon. I don't really know what she is, I don't think she's 100% poodle but I'm not sure what the 2nd breed is. Did I mention she has the cutest little underbite and she's an escape artist!! She's alerted me to several weak spots in my fence!! With those fixed, she's on the hunt for the next spot!! She doesn't go far, she stays within 5 feet of my yard and when I call she comes right back in, which is how I've discovered her exits!! Ok, I've discovered MOST of her exits, there's clearly one I don't know about!! Evie is safe and happy where she is. In light of our current health scare, I think its best to delay any meetings and home visits. SO, please continue to send in your application to adopt. I'll contact you and when the shelter at home order is lifted I'll reach out to those who have sent applications in the order received. I have at least 10 people who want to adopt Evie if you really want to adopt it might be best if you try for another dog. Thanks! Stay healthy!

In the foster home, Augustus has shown himself to be a great dog. Loving, sweet and playful. Your patience and time with him will be rewarded ten-fold. However, he requires an experienced adopter familiar with poodle/schnauzer personality characteristics, who will only use positive reward-based training techniques. He is not suitable in a home with small children. Does well with other dogs. He was found on the street malnourished and matted. He was likely mistreated by a man as he is fearful of new men. Experienced adopter only.
