Story
Whew - Long Flight!Luka Puerto Rico was born about June 22, 2015 and weighs about 24 lbs.  He is such a cute poodle mix and we are so glad we were able to save him from the island.  There is a team of volunteers who work endlessly to save dogs off the street and get them into good homes which often means sending them to the mainland.  Luka is extremely shy of humans and will nip if frightened.  He is going to be a project for someone that is willing to lavish him with love and cause him to love you back.  His behavior towards humans is similar to a dog that has come out of a puppy mills.  Luka is good with the other dogs and it would be helpful if he had another normal dog in his next life.  He is good on leash and likes car rides.  He does love his toys, he's very playful and happy and he loves going for walks to strut his stuff a bit!  Welcome to the mainland Luka!!! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $100.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. Story
Milo was born around September 20, 2011  and weighs around 25 pounds.  Milo is as sweet as they come and loves other dogs, cats, and kids!  He rides well in the car but will need to be on leash or in a fenced in yard as he is a little explorer.  He will need potty pads in the house and reminders in new environments.  It seems that in his younger years no one cared where he did his business but he has continued to improve in that area and with consistency he should be just fine.   He loves cuddle time and life is just really fun for Milo.   We did just have a dental done on him but please remember small dogs often need dental care throughout their lives.   Milo's previous vet did note Nuclear Sclerosis in the eyes which is just the normal cloudiness of the eye that older animals get but please check with your vet to make sure you are ok with this.    The Adoption Fee for this dog is $375.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability.
