Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept cash only. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   Phoebe is a 10 month old poodle/miniature pinscher mix, according to her previous owner. She was surrendered to the rescue in September with her brother from the same litter, Joey. Phoebe and Joey came from a loving, caring home, but their owner unfortunately lost their job and had to surrender them. The two puppies were originally adopted from their friend's dog's litter when they were old enough to find a new home. Their owner made sure they got their puppy shots and all vet care, and they were made yummy homemade dog food with chicken daily, as well as fed canned dog food. They are definitely used to TLC and love. Phoebe is a sweet, cute, small dog. She's only about 7-8 lbs. She can be a little shy with new people, but gets used to you pretty quickly. She is a sweetheart. She will bark at new people and sudden sounds, but there is not a mean bone in her body. NO homes with small kids, due to her small size and shyness. Not suitable for apartment homes. Houses only. She will sit in your lap and cuddle, especially once she knows you well. She enjoys pets and attention from people she trusts, and LOVES to be held. Just like her brother Joey, you can hold her and carry her around all day long, and she will be super happy with that. She would be a great lap dog, and wants to be with you all day. She would be a great dog for someone who stays at home most of the time. Phoebe enjoys plush dog beds and soft chewy treats. She is used to the kennel and sleeping in it overnight. She loves food too.  This little girl is used to walking on leash and going outside to potty. She is not yet fully potty trained over carpet. She is wearing washable dog diapers while training. She is bonded with her brother Joey, as they were from the same litter and have been together every day since they were born, but is a little less anxious than him. They will cuddle together in the same bed, which is adorable. Phoebe and Joey are also great with other dogs. We would love to find them a forever home together, as they are very attached to each other. Send in an adoption application today for Phoebe and Joey! Please email us with questions or to schedule a meet and greet as well, if you would like to meet them. The adoption fee for Phoebe and Joey is $300 all together.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   History Joey is a 12 month old poodle miniature pinscher mix. He was surrendered to the rescue in September with his sister, Pheobe, from the same litter. Joey and Phoebe came from a loving, caring home, but their owner unfortunately lost their job and had to surrender them. The two puppies were originally adopted from their friend's dog's litter when they were old enough to find a new home. Their owner made sure they got their puppy shots and all vet care, and they were made yummy homemade dog food with chicken daily, as well as fed canned dog food. They are definitely used to TLC and love. Joey's owner named him after the character from the tv show Friends. Vetting Up to date on all vaccines, including DHPP, bordetella, and rabies. Heartworm negative. Neutered. Microchipped. Dewormed. Size Joey is an adorable small dog. He's only about 10-12 lbs, and should not end up weighing much more than that. Personality Joey is super sweet when he comes to trust a new person. Once he's comfortable with you, he LOVES being picked up and is so happy to be held all the time. You could probably walk around holding him all day, and he'd love it. He would be a good lap dog, and also loves being pet a lot. Joey will even climb in your lap to cuddle. He loves attention from people he trusts, and wants nothing more than to be with you all the time. He will put his little legs up on your leg to get picked up or pet. Sometimes he will lick your hands or arms when he's happy. He tends to have anxiety with new people - will sometimes bark at them, sudden sounds, or when he feels scared or anxious. He was nippy at first when he felt afraid, but his anxiety has improved a lot and he has not been nippy at all since. His foster is working on training with him and helping him learn to be less anxious. Joey has already improved SO much. With patience and love, we believe he will become more confident and calmer. He should go to a home with an experienced dog owner, that will continue to give him lots of TLC and patience with his training. Joey is great with other dogs, and plays very well with them. No homes with kids, due to his small size and anxiety. He barks sometimes when he is anxious, but this has been decreasing as gets more comfortable with time. Not suitable for apartment homes (barking complaint from neighbors). Houses only. Training Used to walking on leash and going outside to potty. He does not really pull on his leash, which is great. Needs to wear a secure harness when walking on leash (little dogs have more delicate necks). Not fully potty trained yet, but has not had many accidents. He definitely knows that going outside means potty time. He is used to the kennel and sleeping in it overnight. Knows to sit for a treat when you ask. Food Joey eats dry dog food and also loves wet food, pureed pumpkin, plain chicken breast and rice. He loves most treats, especially soft chew treats and dehydrated treats (like chicken hearts). Other Notes He is attached to his sister Phoebe, as they were from the same litter and have been together every day since they were born. He tends to depend on her for comfort, but we are working on helping him gain more confidence in himself as well. He has been doing well sleeping in a kennel on his own without her for a long time now. They will cuddle together in the same bed, which is adorable. We would love to find them a forever home together, as they are very attached to each other.   Out of State Adopting We will adopt dogs to out of state adopters, but you must come in person to complete the adoption and pick up your new family member at our adoption location in Houston, TX. Story
Teddy is a senior and is not fond of children per his former owner who had her grandchildren move in. Teddy came to CAMO rescue because they didn't teach the kids boundaries. Teddy is a senior blind poodle that just needs a soft place to land in his retirement years. He's a bit grumpy, doesn't like his face messed with and doesn't like new people. He's content to sleep in his bed and wander around the yard a bit. He is up to date on shots, had a dental and is neutered. Adoption Fee waived to the right family for him. ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at www.camorescue.com and once you're approved to adopt we will put you in touch with the foster to see if its a good match and then we can arrange a meet and greet. Adoption Fee: waived All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Adoption Application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CAMO/Dog

Story
Chloe was turned into the city kill shelter by her owner as a euthanasia request. We cannot imagine why. The shelter begged us to help her. They did not think she should be euthanized for no reason. She does have a slight limp on her right leg, along with some hair loss and skin infection, but this little lady doesn't deserve to die because of it. We took her directly into our vet for x-rays and to treat her skin infection. The x-rays revealed that she has some arthritis in her right knee and has some neurological issues in her spine that can be managed very well with Adequan and pain medication. We have had our vet do a dental cleaning on her and have started working on clearing up her skin. We have also put her on a diet (she's a chunky monkey) which will ease the issues with her back and knee. Chloe is a miniature poodle mix who currently weighs 23 pounds. She is 9 years old. She is very, very cute and super sweet! She would love a new home with a family that will take care of her properly. She still has a lot of life and love left in her to give and would make the perfect companion for almost anyone. Chloe's adoption fee is $285. She has been fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped so she is ready to go! Chloe is currently in her foster home in Sheridan, TX.

Story
I was found wandering the streets and brought into a vet clinic. No one came looking for me so Loving Arms stepped up to the plate and took me in. I had lots of dental work so I have no upper teeth but am still able to eat dry food as long as it is small bites. I LOVE company and would really like to be a part of your family. Let’s get together and see how happy we can be. I’m a really good kisser and love kissing everybody who pets me.
