Story
Lucille is a happy dog. She can be cautious with new people but once she knows you she’s a love bug. She loves to run and play with her toys. She is learning that playful mouthing is not appropriate. Lucille is about 4 years old and weighs 14lbs. She is good with other dogs but does take a minute to warm up to larger dogs as she is a bit scared. She wags her tail like crazy when she gets to know you. She likes walks. She is crate trained. She does have terrible anxiety to vets offices. We have been advised by our rescue vet to always give her some sort of anxiety medication before taking her. She may also need to be muzzled. Lucille suffered broken ribs in her previous life. She is still healing from that. If you are interested in Lucille, please visit our website at www.bullluvablepaws.org to get additional information or fill out an application!

Story
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MEETING / ADOPTING THIS PET, YOU MUST GO TO OUR WEBSITE AND FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AT http://www.littledogsbigheartsrescue.com/adoption-application/ Name: Rudy Breed: Purebred McCutiepie Gender: Neutered Male Age: Approx. 5 yrs in April ’14 Weight: Approx. 7 lbs Energy Level: Medium Apartment Appropriate: Yes Good w/ Dogs: No large dogs, but will need another small, friendly dog to be his buddy Good w/ Cats: No Good w/ Kids: Would probably be fine with calm, respectful kids age 12 yrs and over Comments: Rudy had a rough start, but he’s enjoying today and looking forward to forever with his own family. Rudy came from a hoarding situation. You’ve probably seen them on tv- people with way too many animals and too little time and resources to care for them properly. There were many types of dogs in the home, so we really have no clue what his breed background is. Perhaps a little Mini Schnauzer, a little Chihuahua, a little terrier- whatever he is, he's precious! Most dogs in hoarder homes aren’t physically abused, but they are neglected, receiving little to no individual attention, affection, or touch. This is what life was like for Rudy. As a result, Rudy is wonderful with other small dogs, but it takes him a few minutes to trust that you aren’t going to hurt him before he’s ready to approach a new person. If one of his dog buddies thinks you’re ok, he comes around much faster, so we want to make sure that he has another smallish, friendly dog in his forever home to be his good example. You would think that Rudy would hate physical attention, but it’s just the opposite. This precious boy with the rockin’ hairdo is so very sweet. When our photographer came to take these pictures, she sat down on the floor with the dogs and Rudy barked and ran around. Then he saw his buddy, Pip, was getting an awful lot of attention from that scary lady, and she seemed less scary. After a few minutes, Rudy was gently asking her for attention, sitting next to her, and even asking for a belly rub before falling asleep. If he’s given that initial time to decide to trust you, he’s such a loving, loyal companion. Rudy deserves to spend the rest of his life getting the attention he missed out on during that first phase of his life. If you’d like to be the lucky person to give him that attention, please fill out an application at http://www.littledogsbigheartsrescue.com/adoption-application/ today!

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MEETING / ADOPTING THIS PET, YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OR OLDER, LIVE IN NORTH TEXAS, AND GO TO OUR WEBSITE AND FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AT http://www.littledogsbigheartsrescue.com/adoption-application/ Please do not send us a message saying you want to adopt without filling out an application. Our application neither guarantees adoption nor obligates you to adopt- it's just the first step in our process. Name: Nacha Breed: Chihuahua mix (possibly some Schnauzer and/or terrier) Gender: Spayed Female Age: Approx. 2 yr 9 mos in April ’18 Weight: Approx. 8 lbs (still growing) Energy Level: High Apartment Appropriate: No apartments (very loud) Good w/ Dogs: Fine with small dogs, seems fine with larger dogs Good w/ Cats: Unknown, but would probably pester them Good w/ Kids: Should be fine with respectful children age 9 and over Comments: Nacha and her sister, Niñez, were an unwanted litter from a family with unaltered pets. After the family agreed to spay and neuter, we agreed to help these girls find their forever homes. We know their mother was a Chihuahua mix, but their loud barks and shrieks tell us there is likely some Schnauzer or terrier in there somewhere. We are not sure what their adult size will be, but they will likely be on the larger side of small. Nacha will not be placed in a home with her sister (they are already showing signs of littermate syndrome), but she absolutely must have another dog in her forever home who can tolerate the extremely high energy level of this growing puppy. At their first adoption showing, Nacha was slightly braver about meeting new people than her sister. Her people will need to be prepared for the level of training required and the boundless energy this little girl has. Neither of these two sisters would be appropriate for first-time dog owners. A puppy class would do wonders for her confidence and socialization. Nacha is a very busy little girl, and though she will tolerate being held and cuddled for a short bit, she’s quickly ready to move onto the next exciting thing she can find to get into. She may grow to be a lapdog some day, but by her drive and energy level, we would guess that day is a long way off! If you have the love of puppies and the energy and patience to keep up with this little one required to give her the forever home she deserves, please fill out an application to meet Nacha today!

Story
Murphy is a sophisticated older gentleman; he has retired from puppy shenanigans and is looking for humans who have done the same. That's not to say he doesn't like getting around! Murphy still enjoys getting on the old leash and taking a walk. He doesn't let his visual or hearing impairments get him down, he just asks that he get a good smell of you before you start rubbing his belly. A long-needed tooth cleaning will have his snaggletooth shining just like him. Murphy is looking for a quiet home with no crates and people who will be around to cuddle and take him outside for regular bathroom breaks. He is good with dogs and kids (unsure about felines) as long as they don't cause too much ruckus. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/ . Story
Billy was named after Billy Idol for his rock star hair and "black eyeliner". While he often has a mean look on his face he is a sweetheart. He has very soulful eyes. Billy loves to be held and will wrap his paws around you to hold on tight. He will also lay as close to you as he can. He is fostered with other dogs and does well with them. However he is not good around the cats. While he is getting better at ignoring them, he does bark at them alot. Billy gets scared and is a bit timid which is why he might not be good around small kids. He only had 1 previous owner and he really needs to find his forever home.
