Story
Where are all our big dog lovers? Meet Zachary! This giant floofy boy is around 3 years old. We think he is a Newfoundland mix and he is looking for an active family that can give him the time, attention, training and exercise he needs. Zachary is fostered with four medium to large female dogs and gets along well with all of them. He also ignores the cats in his foster home. He is a smart boy that caught on quick how to go in and out a dog door. He is a gentle giant who doesn't always realize his own size. He is not a big fan of being crated and we think he would prefer a family where someone is home more often than not. Zachary enjoys his walks and learning he doesn't need to pull on leash. At home, he is quiet and enjoys lounging around. If you are interested in meeting Zachary, please submit an adoption application on our website. This information is as up to date and accurate as possible for the dog in its current environment. All dogs and puppies will need time and training to adjust to their new surroundings and to learn the rules of their new home. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the Adoption Form on our website at www.labsandmore.org and take some time to review our adoption process. Your adoption includes the spay or neuter, current vaccinations, microchip, and other services provided while in our care. The safety and health of our puppies is priority one, so we only allow approved applicants to meet and handle puppies. Please understand everything we do is for the dogs and conducted by our kind and generous volunteers. We rely solely on donations, and we do not profit from a dog's adoption. Labs and More is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that operates on donations and time dedicated to this cause by volunteers. Your adoption will save the life of future dogs in need. Labs and More makes no guarantees regarding the behavior, breed, or age of the dogs in our care. Although we strive to provide necessary medical care to dogs in our care, we cannot predict future or current medical needs whether they were symptomatic or not at the time of adoption.Thank you for looking to Adopt a Labrador Retriever or other Mixed Breed Dog from California Labradors Retrievers and More Rescue. Story
So a friend of mine abandoned her dog in my house and I'm unable to take care of a big dog although I am looking for my own dog, we just dont have the space for her. It breaks my heart to be even posting this but I feel it’s in her best interest to give them to a new home who can make time for her and give her the attention they deserve. Mercy is a Anatolian Shepherd mixed with Great Pyrenees and she is 5 years and 3 months and she is spayed. Mercy is a little bit of a dork. She loves to cuddle and will cuddle with you all night long if you let her. She loves to get out and play but will also lay down and have a lazy day. She is not good with younger children because she was attacked my a child when she was a puppy so she gets very scared of them. She also is skittish around new people and takes a bit of time to warm up but treats and love will help with that. She is crate trained. Thank you.

Story
Will be 8 years old in February 2020. Adopted in 2017 after being surrendered by previous owner. Bonded quickly to her owner. Was overweight upon adoption, but has lost good amount of weight with diet restriction and increased exercise. Is reactive to other dogs and cats; rabbits, birds, squirrels, etc. do not seem to bother her at all. She is quite sweet and a little needy, may exhibit signs of separation anxiety that subside over time. She has lived with another dog (submissive puppy) in the past, but continued displaying signs of anxiety if puppy was present. Knows basic commands and can walk nicely on a leash, but may pull a bit from time to time. Doesn't like too many toys, but will chase a tennis ball and will chew on flavored chew toys. She would do well in a home with a private yard with someone who is home often to keep her company. Is not too active; mostly lies around and sleeps but may be due to housing situation (apartment).

Story
Olaf is a healthy, handsome, 7-year-old Great Pyrenees mix. Olaf is truly a "gentle man"-- he loves all people, and is wonderful and gentle with children. He has a sweet, mellow disposition- he likes affection but does not overly demand attention. He is well mannered and knows all his basic commands. I adopted Olaf 2 years ago from the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. I am very reluctantly rehoming Olaf because I am a single parent who works long hours outside the home. Olaf is sensitive to separation anxiety. He is never destructive, but will cry/bark when left if he feels anxious. I worked with Olaf on this when I first adopted him and he made great progress. He would so benefit from an adopter who can be home with him more. Olaf does very well with small dogs and enjoys playing with them. He can be fearful and sometimes reactive of larger breeds. He loves to go on walks and is good on a leash as well as in the car. He's done very well with pet sitters, who all love him.
