Story
High maintenance pet! needs to be cared for properly! Vets estimate he’s between 8-10 years old. He will need vitamins for his joints. I took Dax in because the previous owner couldn’t afford him and he was hurt and matted at the time. I took him in, got him vet attention and got him groomed and am now looking for a forever home for him- this, I cannot provide for him. He needs his monthly bath and brushing to control his shedding. He really needs someone who can spend lots of time with him. He is sensitive and gets lonely. He cannot be an outside dog!! Indoors only!!He is pretty smelly regardless of keeping up with baths. He drools when he’s hot or stressed out. Please consider all of this! He is very well trained and deserves a loving family. Oh and he behaves strange with other dogs! Some of them he likes and others he barks and tries to chase. Preferably no other dogs in the home

Story
Barkley is a neutered Newfoundland mix that was adopted as a young dog from Pet Adoption League. He has a lot of similarities to a Great Pyrenees. He loves to parole his yard first thing in the morning and late at night, looking for critters that have come on his property. He enjoys going on long walks and having the full attention of his person. He has gone through dog training; puppy and intermediate. He still prefers to give a handshake when he sits for a treat. He is a very independent dog and prefers to sleep on a cool floor away from the other dogs in his current home. On occasion he will sleep in his dog bed. He does love people food and will counter surf looking for a treasure and can be very protective of the reward. He is very alert to sounds outside his home and will let everyone know of his concern. He prefers to be outside over being in a crate when his people are gone. He is looking for one person to bound with as his current attachment has moved.
