If you are interested in GRIZZ or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here
Please email the completed application to katiev.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached.
GRIZZ is a man of simple taste: thorough rump scratches and ample treats are all this man needs to be content. GRIZZ will let you know when he needs either of these, placing his head on your leg or shoulder to elicit some pets. As for the treats, there’s nothing he won’t do. Even if he is nervous about something, like car rides or the pet hospital,GRIZZ will always respond well to a treat. Bring your friends around to meet him, he absolutely adores people and if he sees their hands ready for petting, he’ll rush right over. An audience’s attention makes GRIZZ’s day as much as he makes theirs. GRIZZ gets along with other dogs, and is sure to acclimate to your fur family without any hiccups. This boy is intelligent, polite, and seems to know when to play and when to settle down. GRIZZ does well in the crate when you need to step out, but his foster family has no hesitations leaving GRIZZ unsupervised. He has no inclination to chew on anything he shouldn’t. GRIZZ is in the process of shedding a few extra pounds he accumulated before being welcomed into our Rescue, so maintaining an active lifestyle is necessary for his journey to a healthier physique. GRIZZ is truly a special boy and his forever family is going to be forever blessed to call this boy their own!

GRIZZ is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations.
His local adoption fee is $290.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our Nashville, Knoxville and some New England adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com). We also use Pet Express Tupelo (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com/). For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
