Story
Lyla is a sweet, affectionate Golden Retriever mix who was born in December of 2018. This sweetie pie is looking for a new home with no children in the home. Lyla enjoys her toys and doesn't really like to share. She loves other larger, playful, dogs and respects them when they tell her to back off.  Another dog her size in the home is highly recommended because Lyla loves to play and she does play a bit rough.  And a fenced yard is also a definite plus because she loves to play outside. Lyla does some resource guarding so she would not fit in a home with children due to this personality trait. Lyla, who already knows some basic commands, is a smart girl who thrives on treats and positive reinforcement. Due to events in her past, she does not like anyone touching her neck and collar.  She comes fully house trained and vetted!! Lyla may need a few minutes to warm up to new people, especially men, but she is able to adjust quickly! If you have the time and patience to help Lyla become her best self, fill out an application today! Please note:  Lyla has guarding issues and will need to be placed in a home with prior dog experience. Adopter also will be required to work with our positive reinforcement trainer so her treatment plan to address her guarding tendencies can continue in the adoptive home. Also no children in the home. Update 1/11/20.  Lyla's best friend was adopted and she really misses running and playing with another dog.  A playful dog her size or larger would be ideal.  Lyla is currently on a diet as she gained a couple pounds over the holiday.  She has also gotten much, much better with her resource guarding.  And she loves to play fetch! The suggested adoption donation for Lyla is $350, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our dogs in rescue.  If you would like to welcome Lyla into your home, please begin by submitting our Adoption Application.  The adoptions for all of our dogs will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver the dogs.  If you would like to learn more about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, or donate to our dogs, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com.  We invite you to visit our Facebook Page, and when you visit, please don't forget to Like our Facebook page so that you won’t miss any information about our dogs and events! ##445685##

Story
Ollie is a golden doodle that was born around May of 2018. He can be the biggest sweetheart once he gets to know you but he does need some time to learn to trust.  Ollie is a bit high strung and because of his young age still likes to sometimes do the puppy biting, but has been working hard on not doing it.  Ollie's foster mom likes to take him on car rides to the gas station and he stays calm and quiet. The cashiers even like to come out and give him treats. He is crate and house trained and absolutely loves toys! Be prepared for stuffing though; he will chew right through them. Ollie loves to cuddle his family and will lounge around with you. Hugs are his best quality! He sometimes does jump on you to give you his full attention but that again is something he has been working on getting out of the habit of doing.  But because of this and his potential for puppy biting, he will only be adopted to families with no children in the home. The suggested adoption donation for Ollie is $450.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
