Story
Mortimer (Mortie) is a 3 year old, 8 lb Papillon/Long hair Chihuahua mix who found his way to EARS after his owners moved out and left him behind. He is a sensitive little guy that chooses his person and then really wants to be with them all of the time. He is a velcro dog! Mortie is potty-trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and likes car rides! He will play and run around but is also happy to sit quietly and snuggle. Mortie is intimidated by bigger dogs but is good with companions his own size. He would also do well as an only dog as that just means more petting and love for him! Mortie startles easily and therefore would do best in a house with no children. He is a pint sized little pal! We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
