You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Peekaboo was in danger of being put down at a shelter. He can be picky about who he likes but when he likes someone he LOVES them. Peekaboo doesn't care for other dogs and would do best as the only dog in the home. He loves to play fetch and play with toys (in fact, he's got a box full that will have to go with him) and is one of the more unusual-looking dogs we've saved. He's neutered, vaccinated and healthy. Annie was born approximately 2013. She is a very sweet, affectionate dog who gets along with all the other dogs. She is mostly potty trained with the occasional accident. She has had some tooth loss, and several teeth pulled at last dental. We generally soak her kibble to make it easier for her to chew. Annie is currently about 14.5 pounds. Annie was rescued from the shelter. Her owner had moved and left her with friends who did not want her so they passed her along to someone else, who also didn’t want her and they left her outside, so they didn’t have to deal with her. Annie was good at escaping from their yard and would often be found wandering the neighborhood. She was finally picked up by Animal Control and brought to the shelter. Owners were contacted and relinquished Annie to the shelter. It was then discovered that Annie had a severe heart murmur that would need to be evaluated by a veterinary cardiologist. Annie’s foster mom noticed Annie having frequent episodes that looked similar to seizures but were later diagnosed as heart disease. Annie has a left Atrium leaky valve and an enlarged heart, which has been managed well with medication. She will need to remain on this medication for the rest of her life, and have regular follow up visits with a cardiologist to monitor her progress. Annie also takes a prescription Apoquel for seasonal allergies. Stop by and meet our pets on SATURDAYS or if you are not able, email to arrange a convenient time to meet the pet. Adoption events are Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm at R and R Pet Lifestyle and Supply at 2780 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley (SE corner of Tapo Canyon and Alamo), except holiday weekends. Please email (staff@arvsimi.org) ahead to make sure a particular pet will be at adoptions.
