Story
Meet Jana and adopt her! Thick is the new thin. Looking for a gal with some vorumptuous curves? How about a girl with BEAUTIFUL hazel eyes and a pretty tiger brindle coat? My name is Jana and I’m a pretty pittie. I’m about 2.5 years old, so I’m fully grown. Unfortunately, I’ve spent most of my life in the kennels. I was brought into God’s Dogs Rescue 2 years ago (14 in dog years, not that I am counting or anything) and have been here ever since. All the nice dog people here love me and I love them. So what gives??? A really nice lady took me out on a walk today. Walking me is really fun, but she also has the important mission of getting me adopted. Not to just any ole family. A family that doesn’t mind having just me as the only pet. I’m not reactive to other dogs just out of the blue, but if they get in my face, I don’t like that. Yuck doggie breath! You can still take me out, I’ll walk perfectly fine past other dogs and animals on leash, but it isn’t advised that I have any doggy friends or play dates at the local doggie park. Dogs drool and I’m not into that. I only want human friends. I will take human friends of all sizes, shapes, colors, odors, heights, ALL kinds. I cuddled my new friend a bunch of times on our walk (see comments for selfie us together) and she said I walk better on leash than her own dogs... shhhh. I don’t think she wants them to find out. Please spread the word about me. Others say that I won’t get adopted because I don’t like other animals... but I know plenty of people that don’t like other people, am I right, can I get an amen? I’m not a bad dog. My walker told me I’m a good girl and she really seems to be a very smart lady. I just want human companions. I adore humans. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our puppies are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each pup comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm tested if not started on heartworm preventatives early, and are current with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $500 for puppies under a year old, which also includes the cost of transportation to the assigned location. Medical records accompany each dog at the time of delivery and can be emailed to adopter in advance if desired.. Microchips will be automatically registered to the new owner after payment of adoption fee. The registration site we use is Michelson Found Animals which is free to use and update during the lifetime of your pet. Please allow 24-48 hours for the new information to appear on the website. . God's Dogs Rescue will remain as a permanent back up registration for safety sake. Please visit our website http://godsdogsrescue.org/ for helpful information re: transport, our adoption process and application, volunteering and fostering, and photos of our dogs/pups looking for homes!! Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescue dog, their LIVES depend on it!

Story
Meet Brownie JuM Recently, me and my previous family had a series of extremely unfurtunate events. My owner was gone due to something called cancer. That was very sad times. Then the rest of my family got evicted. I think evicted means you cannot live in your house anymore. When my family moved their things out of the house and left, I stayed in the back yard. It was all a blur of confusion for me. I missed my Dad very much he was a best friend to me and I didn’t understand why I couldn’t see him anymore. Why did my family not have a house anymore. When was he coming back to get me??? The neighbors were coming over and dropping food to me. I kept sneaking out of the back yard. I was crossing a busy traffic road to sleep in the shelter of a large drain pipe. I felt safe in my little pipe cave, but all the humans said this was not a safe life for me. A brave girl came and picked all 58 pounds of me up. She wasn’t my Dad but she sure was strong. She said “Don’t worry Brownie, I will find you a new family so you won’t ever have to sleep in a drain pipe again.” She took me home, gave me a bath, or reverse that, I think she bathed me first, so I wouldn’t stinky up her house! I got checked out by a Dogtor and he said in pawfessional terms that I am fit as a fiddle at one year old and 58 pounds. Now that I have no worries, I am foot lose and fancy free, metafurically speaking, I am actually not free at all. I never leave the house or yard without a leash and harness. You must use a well fitting harness on me, as I will reenact every Crocodile Dundee scene and wiggle my way right out of your silly regular leash and collar grip. Foster Mommy says I am 50% Good Girl and 25% Bear Cub and 25% Those Roley Poley Bugs That Ball Up When You Touch Them. But she isn’t a pawfessional so you shouldn’t believe that nonscents. I am likely a German Shepherd mix, but I am listed as a Black Mouth Cur mix too because my dark chocolate face mask and baby deer colored coat might appeal to lovers of that breed too. I love to play fetch with ropes and fuzzy balls. I will admit, I defurnitely needs some pawlishing up on my manners. Foster Mommy is working hard to teach me but with so many new faces and new places, I am quite distracted. Plus I am only one year old and my brain keeps telling me there are more interesting mischiefs than manners. I really need a home that is furmiliar with the intelligence of a German Shepherd breed. I have a strong personality and if you don’t firmly keep me in line, I will be taking over as CEO of your household. Chief of Everything Officer. Just call me la jefa, boss lady. Foster Mommy says that I shouldn’t worry about getting everything right just yet, since my life has been turned upside down. But she isn’t babying me either! I promise to be good in another stable home once I get some consistency. I am great with other dogs and kids. My previous family had small children from 3 years to 10 years. I was used to get attention from them and would be happy to be a loyal family dog again. It is furst and furmost that I be an indoor dog again, the yard life was not suitable for me, I was very melancollie there, or melansheppie in my case. Thank you for considering me. Basics: Brownie JuM- female, 1 year old, 58 lbs, German Shepherd/Blackmouth Cur mix, good with kids, good with dogs, fawn coat with dark mask, active, smart, loyal, loving, alpha type of personality, needs some polishing on basic training, her family fell on very hard times and she needs a new stable and loving home
