Story
This shy playful guy was unexpectedly trapped when the trappers were trying to catch a different kitty in the area! They had no clue he even existed and were completely surprised when they went to check the trap. It must have been his lucky day because his life of free roaming quickly came to an end and he's been living the good, spoiled, safe indoor life ever since. Bug is a beautiful young buff colored tabby. He will be shy at first, but should warm up in his own time & may even join you on the couch for a snuggle when he is ready. He's a playful guy who loves the company of another feline friend and has developed a friendship with a relatively new foster in the home, Henry (see separate listing). We feel that being adopted along with Henry will help Bug come out of his shell with new people and the best home for them would be a quiet low-activity home where these boys can thrive and be spoiled. Story
Jonah arrived as an un-neutered stray in early 2018 who was extremely wary of humans. Over time he has warmed up once he trusts his person he is very affectionate/friendly. He and Frankie seem to have formed a friendship and can be seen together most all of the time. Because of their bond we would love to have them go to a foster-to-adopt home together to see how they would adjust to living the much better and more safe life indoors. The health, well-being, and safety of an indoor only life far outweighs the many potential dangers of living life day-to-day outside as a stray. We'd love to see both boys live long, healthy, and spoiled lives! Looking for someone in the Charlotte, NC or surrounding area with a quiet low-activity home with no small children or other pets, as this is the type of environment we feel both boys would do best and thrive in. Story
This sweet girl was adopted by a wonderful lady two years ago and at the time was told that Cal was 3 years old. While at a vet visit soon after it was found that her kidney values were elevated so Cal had to go on special kidney food. It also wasn't very long before Cal had to see a special dentist. Having already had some of her teeth pulled previously Cal had to have most of the rest pulled and it was determined that the issue/cause was genetic. It was during this time under the care of the dental specialist that Cal's age was estimated to actually be around 11 years. Surprised no doubt, her humom relayed this information to their regular vet and it then made more sense why Cal's kidney values were elevated. Despite those couple of (easily managed) "bumps in the road" early on, Cal and her humom settled into a nice routine, formed a sweet bond and enjoyed each other's company. It wasn't until recent months, though, that Cal's humom has had to be gone for extended periods due to unforeseen life events and over the course of her humom's periods of absence Cal has developed what is referred to as FIC (feline idiopathic cystitis). This means her bladder becomes inflammed, crystals form and poor Cal becomes "blocked" making it painful (and/or impossible) to pass urine which results in requiring veterinarian intervention. She has had a handful of these FIC flare-ups/bouts and they appear to occur concurrently with the periods of time humom is away from home. Unfortunately, humom will continue to have more extended periods of time away from home and realizes that since Cal's bouts of FIC are likely due to being stressed while she is gone, it's not fair to keep putting her through this. As hard as it is for Cal's mom to come to this decision, she loves Cal enough to want to find her a home where her human's schedule will be more regular/routine and where possibly her human will be home much of the time. Cal's mom says she is the sweetest, most perfect cat with the most adorable "short" legs. She is playful at times, but is not a rambunctious kitty and mostly loves to just hang out by your side and be near you. What a great friend and companion this sweet girl will make! With her special food to help with and manage her kidneys we feel a quiet low activity home with maybe someone who works from home, or is home most often (and doesn't travel a lot) would be ideal for Cal and may be just what she needs to avoid any future FIC flare-ups. Thanks for reading Cal's story!
