Story
Meet Jasmine This pretty little girl is going to make someone the best companion, but it almost wasn’t to be. Jasmine was rescued from a neighbor’s backyard, where for too long Jasmine’s purpose in life was to be a lonely and neglected ‘lawn ornament’ tied to a tree. With the neighbor’s permission, Jasmine’s hero was allowed to take her and find her a better future. Unable to keep her herself, Jasmine’s hero surrendered her to our shelter on July 23, 2019. It turned out that while Jasmine was tied to a tree with no escape, she was violated by neighboring dogs and came to us pregnant (unknowingly.) In September, Jasmine had eleven puppies and was the best momma to them. Now it’s time to find this awesome dog a forever loving home of her own. Having gone through mommy hood with Jasmine, we have learned quite a bit. First she has a sweet maternal side and raised some terrific and healthy puppies (many of which are waiting to be adopted at our shelter.) Jasmine is thought to be a plot hound mix estimated to be nearly 1.5 years old. She is medium size, weighing about 45 pounds. She has a lovely short coat that is brown and black brindle with the floppiest of ears and intelligent eyes. Jasmine has an easy-going nature and has shown absolutely no aggression towards anything or anyone. She seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and does well with cats. She loves people and enjoys their attention, seeking affection from all she meets. Loud outside noises don’t seem to bother her, maybe because her squeaky toys keep her well occupied. Jasmine is an active dog and would do well with an active family. She likes being part of the mix and would blossom in such an environment. Jasmine loves car rides and walks well on a leash. Jasmine has so much to offer and is a wonderfully sweet and affectionate girl. If you’re looking to welcome a fun and playful younger dog to your family, come meet our Jasmine. You will be glad that you did! Jasmine is spayed, microchipped and fully vetted. Call 706-865-4135 for information on additional health services provided as part of the adoption fee. If interested in one of our puppies or dogs, please submit an application online or at the shelter. Applications can be submitted online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. However, until further notice we will be meeting potential adopters by appointment only. Meet Holly Holly is a super sweet plott hound mix with a lovely brindle coat. She and her mate Bea were owner- surrendered to Animal Control when their neighbor threatened to shoot them. It’s a hard-to-hear story, but at least they were safe at AC and now they will be safe at our shelter until we can find Holly and Bea a forever loving family. They arrived on November 30, 2018. The girls have been settling in since then. Holly has a calm and friendly demeanor. She is nine months old and will be a medium-sized dog. She greets everyone with a wag of her tail and eager eyes hoping someone will notice her. Holly loves people and welcomes their companionship. She’s good with dogs. We have yet to test her with cats, which we will for potential adopters. Holly has tested heartworm negative. She will be spayed before going home. If you’re looking for a great family dog – or two - come meet our Holly (and Bea). Call 706-865-4135 for information on additional health services provided as part of the adoption fee. Story
Maggie is the sweetest girl ever!!! She just wants to cuddle and make you happy!! Her only catch is she is an escape artist. Normal crates, and chain length fences are no problem for her. And she always wants to be with her big brother Shadow. He can be left at home alone, but Maggie struggles without her pack. She is such a cuddly sweet girl!!

Story
My name is Tony Tiger. I am 7 years old and about 55 pounds. I was left behind by my previous family and in desperate need of a new family to love and care for me. I love to play ball! I am good on a leash, crate trained, and house broken. I mean well and just wants to be with you all the time. I am also great with kids and good with most female dogs. I am low key and laid back. If interested please leave a contact number and name. I am fully vetted, neutered, utd on shots, microchipped, and wormed.
