Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.  Approx 6 yr old, Male, Plott Hound/terrier mix, Neutered, Brindle and white Hi my name is Ruger and I am a great dog!  I am playful, happy and a great companion.  I am a volunteer favorite at all the events I attend, everyone remarks that I am the best behaved dog there!  I get along with the other dogs in attendance, but I prefer a dog my size - not one of those pocketbook dogs.  I love people!  I light up around anyone who is kind enough to show me attention.  I even give paw and sit on command!  I am really excited for a family or friend to call my very own, someone who will love me and guide me through life's adventure!  I am a sweet boy, with love and guidance I am sure to prove an amazing friend for life.   A perfect home for me would be one with a single person or adult home, kids make me nervous.  I also would prefer a home without cats.  In exchange I am happy to offer great companionship.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Buckee is a handsome boy who was rescued from Louisiana with support from the Irving and Phyllis Millstein Foundation for Animal Welfare. Despite a rough start in LA where he went untreated for heartworm, this Hound mix is friendly and full of energy. His tail wags nonstop as he curiously takes in the world around him. Buckee is good-natured and loves to greet people, but he can be a bit particular about his canine friends. He is currently working on his obedience training, and he is eager to please, especially if treats are involved.
