Story
Sophie is plain and simply a wonderful dog. 🌷 As you can see, she's beautiful, loving, brimming with personality and easy to connect with. She has been mainly an indoor dog since she was a pup, and she's very well-trained. She'd be a great candidate for apartment living! She's still young at just one year old and she's completely up-to-date at the vet. Sophie is only becoming homeless due to a divorce, through no fault of her own. Sophie is likely a Lab/Pointer Mix. 🐕 To apply to adopt Sophie, please click here: https://www.blackdogrescueofbc.com/adopt/

Story
Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Chickpea (Luci)Breed: English Pointer mixAge: 7 yrsGender: fe, spayedWgt/Hgt: 88 lbs / 27-1/2 inchesEnergy level: moderateRelations: good with non-dominant dogs / unknown kids & catsHighlights: tripaw, likes lounging & playing, food protective, curiousRegion: Middle East Hmmm, yummy chickpeas. See my spots, kind of the color of chickpeas. I have a super sweet smile, as you can see by my photo. Yes, I am a large girl with a large heart of love.  I soooo desire to know the love of a family. I have been stuck in a shelter since I was a puppy. https://youtu.be/YymFplmF1CA. Living in the Middle East as a dog is a very harsh experience. The municipality where I lived with my 4 puppies, hired people to kill dogs around the farm areas here (they always did that by shooting us when the number of dogs increased and the people called them in to do it.) My babies were thrown in the river. They beat me with sticks, as often happened to dogs running around. My leg was injured and in really awful condition. It was broken and infected, so I was chewing it off. I wasn't able to step with my leg. It would just drag on the ground when walking. This created deep wounds and the skin was rubbed off. It was so painful. Rescuers saved many of us in the area. The doctor ended up having to cut off part of my leg above the infection though, because the infection was moving up my leg, which would have meant losing my leg completely and possibly my life. Like most dogs, I have adapted very well to being a tri-paw and I get around just fine. There is a video of me you can watch. Probably because of the things that happened in my past, I remain rather fearful of people. I watch the other dogs enjoying the touch of human hands and I envy their ability to trust and relax in the presence of people. I used to be very comfortable hanging out & playing with my canine friends and you can often find me curled up beside one of them having a little snooze. Lately, I have become more alpha dog. I think it is all these years being stuck in the shelter. I need to get out. Then I can learn to relax again. Please don't let me linger here longer. I can be just a little food protective with other dogs. Feeding us apart from one another might be good to start off. I am shy around humans, so I am uncomfortable having people move too quickly to  approach me. I also have trouble allowing someone to touch me, until I sense the trust. I tend to get nervous and escape quickly, if you try to take hold of me. I am sure it must have been all my experiences with people who do not like or understand dogs and those who were trying to harm me. I do enjoy exploring everything though. That curiosity would likely work in your favor for training purposes. Bet you could help smooth me out like hummus. I will need a patient place to overcome the past. I want to find out what being in a loving home is all about in this great dog loving land of Canada I hear about. A home that is calm with someone who is willing to take time, allowing me to become comfortable with my environment and go slow teaching me is what I need most. In fact, I would probably benefit from having another calm dog in my future home to help build my confidence and show me the ropes of how to act being around humans. One that isn't interested in being the big cheese. Also to show me that everything is safe. I really enjoy lounging around too. So maybe we can become snuggle partners one day. I am sure my sweet nature will start to pour out with your help. I need time, patience and love. If you can feel my heart reaching to yours, please save me from a lonely existence and help me become the dog of my dreams. Please do not wait another minute, allow me the chance to become the dog of your dreams too. My adoption fee is $400.00, this includes my airfare to Canada. Story
SunshineBreed: Pointer/AnatolianAge: 3 yrs (4 in Jun)Gender: fe, spayedWgt/Hgt: 51 lbs / 27-1/2 inchesEnergy level: low to moderateRelations: good with dogs, kids / Unknown catsHighlights: happy attitude, tripaw, loves being around people, adores home cooked mealsRegion: Middle East Pleased to make your acquaintence dear Canadians. You can see my lovely spirit shine through my happy face. I definitely love people and other dogs too. I was found by a good samaritan living in a crowded shelter close to the capital city of my country in the Middle East. My rescuer noticed me right away because of my injured paw. You see, I had been run over and as a result, my hip was broken in 5 locations. In addition, my left back paw was damaged along the nerve running down through my hip. I was unable to walk when my good samaritan pulled me from the shelter. She took on the responsibility of getting surgery for me, as well as my physical therapy afterward. The veterinarians had to remove bones in my paw, as well as two toes. After sessions of physical therapy though, I am doing fine and walking again. I have lost feeling in my paw due to missing some nerve endings, so the doctor said I need to wear a special bootie on that paw. The inflammation in my paw is pretty stable and does not appear to get worse. Watching to learn my limits would be good in the beginning. When you see me move, I kind of use my injured leg as a cane. As you can see by my video, I can run around just like the other dogs. We can still do all the things a family and dog do together. As my video shows, I get along and play with other dogs of all sizes. I also love people. Cats are an unknown commodity, because I have not been around any yet. I am also good with children. If I could find a low to moderate level activity home, that would be perfect. I would certainly enjoy taking walks with you, but I would be in 7th heaven just snuggling on the couch with you or anywhere you go. I just love being around people. Another dog buddy in the home is grand by me. I hear hanging out at the dog parks is fun too. I would love to know what it is like to be a part of a real family, who love me as much as I do them. If you make any home cooked meals, I simply adore that. Will you give me the chance to live a life of sweet happiness by your side? I will be ever so devoted.  An update on my toe issue (Oct): my toe is infected. The doctor has me on meds, but they suspect I may need to have my foot amputated. If so, once healed, it shouldn't slow me down at all. In fact, it may make life easier for me, not having to worry about a bootie and all. It will just make me part of the elite tripaw club.    I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. This is NOT a dog belonging to LALDR. This is a courtesy posting. Please do not contact us, as we know nothing about the dog. For more information, please contact: Email: Yadavtsss@gmail.com or archana.sreenivasan@gmail.com Phone: +91-9980823079 Luca was born in 2011 and was adopted in Spain by a Spaniard named Mauricio Peralta Menta. He has a Facebook page called 'En Busca De La Luz', and has more pictures of Luca there. He currently lives in Mallorca with his wife and baby. He came to Bangalore, India in 2017. He travelled with Luca from Spain through many countries like Mongolia and Nepal and arrived here. He realized he had ran out of money and he left Luca in a friends place in Bangalore. Luca was not properly trained by Mauricio and he bit his friend's child. They were about to throw him away on the streets, but luckily I was called before that, as I was into rescuing dogs in Bangalore. Luca was a very aggressive dog when I first met him in 2017. It took me six months to even touch him. Luca is now friendly with me and a few others, I trained him to be friends with other dogs and people. I have never tried to check his behaviour again with babies, children, cats or puppies. So I do not know how he will behave with them. I live in a small house in Bangalore, India. Luca has very limited room to play and spend his excessive energy. He is depressed because of lack of play. Open spaces in Bangalore city are so dirty, I can't risk him being let free anywhere. He needs a big farm/open space and a companion to be with, but note: he had the habit of chasing and attacking sheep, has got kicked once trying to chase a horse and has the habit of chasing cows. He is most ideal in an isolated home where he can be a great protector and a great companion. He functions well on a raw meat diet, I take care to source it correctly for him. If you can help him, that would be of great help for this wonderful boy. He needs to be with an experienced dog person. If you are interested in Luca, please email Yadavtsss@gmail.com or archana.sreenivasan@gmail.com ##533967##

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Atom AntBreed: Pointer/Saluki mixAge: 1 yearWgt/hgt: 44 lbs/ 19-3/4 inchesGender: M, will remain intactRelations: Good with dogs/ unknown cats & kidsActivity level: Moderate for cart dogHighlights: Rear disabled, sweet, good with other dogsRegion: Middle East I am a very sweet, young boy who was in dire need, as my shelter was closing down. Thankfully, a lovely person in Canada has offered to foster me, so I have been taken in by my rescuer until I can get a flight there. I was found with all my legs tied up with a rope and run over by a car. I endured hellish pain. Some rescuers stepped in and I underwent severe surgery enduring pain and hardship for several months, but I was still able to recover. So, I was kept at a place after surgery, but because of improper care, I was hospitalized. I was then taken to my current shelter. It is extremely difficult to find homes for able bodies dogs, let alone one paralyzed. If a place for me had not been found, they feared they would have to euthanize me. Such a shame after so much was done to save me. Now, I have a chance at a new life. Though alas, I am paralyzed forever and can never play like other dogs... I have so much love to give and cuteness of personality to show you. You may think it may be sad for me to be disabled, but it is just the way my life is and I enjoy being alive and able to share my love of life with others. LALDR will provide a cart for me once I am in my new home, so I can learn to zip around like Lightning McQueen, Mario Andretti, Speedy Gonzales, Usain Bolt... Hahaa. I have no issues with other dogs and although I haven't been around cats, it might be hard for me to go after them. I also haven't been around children yet. If you are up for a loving little buddy to snuggle up with, then you've come to the right bio. Here I am. Up and at 'em, Atom Ant. Neutering has been deemed unsafe for me by the vet, so I will remain intact. Darn, I still can't do anything, even if I could get to the girls though.   I have not been spayed/neutered, but am *vaccinated & micro-chipped.My adoption fee is $350.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
