I’m 12 years old, tall, dark, and handsome, and last weighed in at 76 pounds. I am a protection dog. My mission in life is to protect and serve, and I will be your body guard and protector and loyal boy. I am not a family pet, and not too trusting of strangers and other dogs and people I don't know. I am not good with dogs, cats, other animals, kids, and people I don't know. I am a German Shepherd guard dog in a Pointer/Black Lab body. I’m looking for someone really cool to adopt me. I’m pretty cool myself, I think, because I know my manners living inside the house. I’ve never had an accident in my foster home, and have never chewed up anything either. If you’re energetic, outdoorsy, and athletic like me, need a body guard (me), and want to be my leader and boss, come and see me. Story
My name is Bettie Bettie is a 5-year-old Border Collie mix. She is a lover and a hugger. She LOVES going on walks and playing with toys. She loves to have her own space but all the while being around her people. Bettie would be best as the only pet in the home and she would be best with kids older than 15; kids younger than that scare her, we believe she was bullied by young kids and so she feels like she needs to protect herself from them. Bettie is good with large dogs as long as they get the proper introductions. Bettie came to over 4 years ago with a litter of 9 puppies, her owner would just let her roam the streets of South LA. A friend of these owners did not like that so they contacted TLF for help. All puppies have been placed now its mommas turn. All Lovejoy Foundation dogs and puppies can be seen at our weekend adoption events Saturday and Sunday from 11am-5pm. Keep in mind our adoption events take place in an outside venue, with wet weather, high winds, and chilly temperature we would not hold a normal event, so please call ahead before coming 310-719-5707. I agreed to care for this sweet girl for a period of time, but now the original parents are not taking her back. I am moving and I cannot take her with me. She needs to be active and needs someone to give her the attention and care that she deserves. She is loyal and sweet, and loves to cuddle. She grew up with adults and small dogs. She has never bitten anyone and has never attacked another dog. She is well behaved especially after exercising! Please come and save this girl from being put in a shelter!
